Remove any auxiliary hydraulic attachments from the
excavator. Fully lower the boom / arm and stop the
engine.
Start the engine and move the speed control to the high
idle position.
Bring the hydraulic fluid to operating temperature.
Turn the air conditioning ON and turn the temperature
switch to the lowest setting.
Engage the auxiliary hydraulics.
With hydraulic fluid at operating temperature, the HVAC
fan operating at maximum speed, air conditioner ON and
the auxiliary hydraulics engaged; the engine speed must
maintain 2200 RPM.
To adjust the hydraulic pump torque, loosen the lock nut
(Item 2) [Figure 20-50-4] and turn the adjustment screw
clockwise to increase pump torque (decreases engine
RPM). Counterclockwise to decrease pump torque
(increases engine RPM).
Tighten the locknut and retest the pump.
Increase or decrease pump torque until the correct
engine speed (2200 RPM) is maintained.
