This 978-page Takeuchi TB175 workshop manual pdf covers the TB175 down to the fuel injection pumps, with dedicated sections for the YDP-MP2 and YDP-MP4 units. Open it and you get full hydraulic schematics for the pump, control valves, and cylinders, plus wiring diagrams covering the drive, slew, and control systems. A full troubleshooting section walks you from a dead travel motor or a slewing fault straight to the likely cause, and the torque tables back it up with real numbers. Set your hydraulic oil temperature between 50 and 60°C, and torque the coolant sensor to 4.9 N·m with ThreeBond 1104 on the threads. Your machine won't fix itself off a forum thread. Download it once, jump straight to any section with the bookmarks, and search any spec by keyword right from your phone in the shop.

Takeuchi TB175 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Takeuchi TB175 shutting down unexpectedly mid-operation with no warning, engine just cuts out

Check the oil pressure switch continuity per page 759; the circuit reads abnormal when closed. Inspect the switch wiring at the cluster gauge's engine emergency stop circuit shown on page 167. Verify coolant level against the 9.5L cooling system capacity on page 45, and check for a shorted harness connector before replacing the sensor.

Manual Section: TNV/4TNV Series p. 759
All throttle functions lost after pressing the decel button, no response from controls

Pull the fuse box cover and check fuse position 15 for continuity, referenced on page 83. Inspect wire harness connector 14 at the same page for corrosion or a burnt pin. Trace the decel signal wire against the wiring diagram and test for a short to ground before condemning the ECU.

Manual Section: Iii . Machine Configuration p. 83
Hydraulic thumb or high-gear selector not responding to switch input at all

Confirm 24V is present at the solenoid connector per the rated voltage spec on page 40. Check the relay driving the travel speed holding circuit or slow slew solenoid described on page 167. If the valve was removed, torque the cap screw to 6.86 to 7.84 N·m per page 349 and bleed the circuit before retesting.

Manual Section: Iii . Machine Configuration p. 167
Flashing triangle warning light stays on the cluster gauge with no obvious cause

Check the cluster gauge illumination lamp and wiring referenced on page 168 for a loose ground. Test the oil pressure switch and coolant temperature sender for continuity against the same wiring diagram, since the warning triangle aggregates these sensor faults; a shorted sensor or chafed harness is the usual trigger. Confirm actual oil pressure meets spec before replacing the switch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the torque specifications for Takeuchi TB175 engine bolts?

The tightening torques for main engine bolts vary by component and engine model. For example, the cylinder head bolts for the 4TNV94L/98 engine should be tightened to 102.9-112.7 N·m (10.5-11.5 kgf·m). Connecting rod bolts for the 4TNV94L/98 engine require a torque of 53.9 to 58.8 N·m (5.5 to 6.0 kgf·m). p. 910

How can I reset the travel shift-down system on the TB175?

The travel speed holding mode, which controls shift-down, can be released by pressing the second speed switch again to restore first speed. Alternatively, turning the key switch OFF while in second speed will release it, and turning the key switch ON again will set travel speed to first speed. p. 167

How can I reset the TB175 engine idle system?

To reset the engine idle system, turn the key switch to OFF. The throttle controller is reset when the engine key switch is set to OFF. After resetting, wait several seconds before turning the key switch to ON again and check that the L indicator lamp on the cluster gauge is lit before starting the engine. p. 165

What is the total and effective lubricating oil capacity for the 4TNV98T engine?

The total lubricating oil capacity for the 4TNV98T engine is 10.5 liters, with an effective capacity of 4.5 liters. This information is found in the engine specifications table. p. 718
