Tri-fuel engine won't cooperate and you're guessing at specs. The WG1605-E3 runs on gas, LPG, or natural gas. Each fuel system has its own quirks. This manual covers all three.

Six E3 variants share one part number here (OEM #9Y111-06615): WG1605-G-E3, WG1605-L-E3, WG1605-GL-E3, WG1605-N-E3, WG1605-LN-E3, and WG1605-GLN-E3. The 160 pages carry fuel-specific wiring diagrams, with separate schematics for gasoline, LPG/natural gas, and dual-fuel setups, plus 40-plus pages of disassembly and assembly for the cylinder block, crankshaft, valvetrain, and flywheel. Exploded views, troubleshooting charts split by fuel type, and the full tightening torque table round it out. Torque the cylinder head screws to 63.7-68.6 N·m and the connecting rod screws to 41.2-46.1 N·m; the sump holds 6.0 L of oil. Service specs run deep too: cold valve clearance of 0.145 to 0.185 mm, a spark plug gap of 0.70 to 0.80 mm, and idle oil pressure that should hold at 49 kPa. Bookmarks drop you onto your fuel variant, so you can stop cross-referencing and work from the factory numbers.

Kubota WG1605-E3 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Kubota WG1605-E3 gasoline engine turns over at normal speed but won't start, no fuel at carburetor p. 92

Begin with the troubleshooting procedures on page 92. Make sure the fuel valve is open and the tank isn't empty, then check the fuel filter (replacement interval: every 1 year per page 42) for blockage. Pull the fuel line at the fuel pump inlet to confirm free flow. If flow is restricted, replace the filter and look over the hose clamps for kinks.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting for Gasoline Fuel
Engine cranks slowly or won't turn over in cold weather, starter labors but doesn't catch p. 92

Test the battery terminal connections, then look at the fuel system for air bubbles or vapor lock. Spark plugs foul in the cold, so check them; gap should be 0.70 to 0.80 mm (cleaning interval is 100 hours per page 42). Cold weather strains plugs and batteries at once. The full slow-cranking diagnostic sequence runs through the troubleshooting procedures on page 92.

Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting (General)
LPG or natural gas supply connected but engine turns over at normal speed and won't fire p. 92

Verify the LPG or natural gas tank valve is open and the fuel connector is leak-free (inspect daily per page 42). The lock-off valve must actuate freely; a stuck valve cuts all gas flow. Inspect the vaporizer, and confirm the coolant hose replacement interval (every 2 years per page 43) is current. The full no-start sequence is laid out in the troubleshooting on page 92.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting for LPG / Natural Gas Fuel
Engine surges or hunts at idle, rough low-speed running after extended service interval p. 96

Clean or replace the spark plugs at the 100-hour interval on page 42, and check that the gap sits at 0.70 to 0.80 mm. Valve clearance gets its own look at the 1,000-hour mark; cold clearance must be 0.145 to 0.185 mm, as listed on page 96. A plugged air cleaner can drive surging too, so clean the element every 100 hours and replace it annually.

Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting (General)
Oil pressure warning light illuminates at idle speed, engine knocking under load p. 99

Confirm the engine oil level first; total capacity is 6.0 L (1.6 U.S. gals) per page 14. At idle, oil pressure has to reach at least 49 kPa (0.50 kgf/cm²), the figure given on page 99. When the level is right but pressure stays low, look at the oil filter and pressure switch. Swap the oil filter at the 200-hour interval or sooner.

Manual Section: Checking Engine Oil Pressure
Engine overheating, coolant temperature high, fan belt slipping or squealing at startup p. 49

Measure the fan belt's center-span deflection; spec is 7.0 to 9.0 mm per page 49. A loose belt slips the water pump, so check the coolant level next. If it still overheats with correct belt tension and full coolant, test the thermostat: it opens at 69.5 to 72.5 °C per page 75. Change coolant every 2 years per page 43.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the recommended service intervals?

The maintenance check list breaks it down by hours. Engine oil level gets checked every 8 hours (daily); engine oil and the oil filter cartridge start at 50 hours, then move to every 200 hours. Spark plugs need cleaning every 100 hours and replacement every 2000 hours.

What fluids and capacities does this machine require?

Lubricating oil capacity on the WG1605-E3 is 6.0 L (1.6 U.S.gals), and the oil should be Better than SL Class (API) SAE 10W-30. Fuel-wise, it runs on *Unleaded automobile gasoline or Commercial LPG.

How to troubleshoot engine won't start?

When the engine won't turn over, probable causes are a jammed engine (check and repair), a discharged battery (charge), a faulty starter (repair or replace, see page 3-44), or disconnected wires (reconnect). Turning over slowly without starting points to increased resistance in moving parts (repair or replace) or oil that's too viscous at low temperature (use the specified engine oil, see page 2-11).

What torque specifications are listed?

Tightening torques are spelled out for special-use screws, bolts, and nuts. Cylinder head screws take 63.7 to 68.6 N·m (47.0 to 50.5 lbf·ft), *connecting rod screws take 41.2 to 46.1 N·m (30.4 to 34.0 lbf·ft), and spark plugs take 24.5 to 29.4 N·m (18.1 to 21.6 lbf·ft). General-use screws are covered too, like M6 (No-grade or 4T) at 7.9 to 9.3 N·m (5.8 to 6.8 lbf·ft).

How quickly can I access this Kubota WG1605-E3 manual after buying?

Immediate download of the complete 160-page searchable Workshop Manual. Open it on any device, whether that's a laptop at your desk or a phone in the field.

Are there any print restrictions on this Kubota WG1605-E3 manual?

None at all. The PDF is DRM-free, so print whatever sections you need for the shop. Standard letter or A4 paper works.

Are electrical wiring diagrams included in this Kubota WG1605-E3 manual?

Complete wiring diagrams are included, covering all electrical circuits, harness routing, and connector pinouts for the Kubota WG1605-E3.
