This is the factory Takeuchi workshop manual, book code CG4E004, for the TB125, TB135 and TB145 compact excavators - and it is actually three manuals in one file. Pages 1-665 are the Takeuchi machine manual: General, Specifications, Machine Configuration, Hydraulic Units and Troubleshooting. Pages 666-1021 are a complete bundled Yanmar engine workshop manual, from valve adjustment to the injection pump, turbocharger, starter and alternator. Pages 1022-1087 add a fuel injection pump service manual for bench work on the pump itself. The Hydraulic Units section (pages 287-614) is the heart of it, covering pump, control valve, cylinders, travel and slew motors with serial-number-split variants. Serial coverage: TB125 from 12510003, TB135 from 13510004, TB145 from 14510004.

Takeuchi TB125, TB135, TB145 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Boom, arm or bucket is slow or weak under load
Usually pump wear, a relief valve off its setting, or a pilot circuit fault. The Hydraulic Units section (pages 287-614) covers the hydraulic pump, control valve and pilot valve with test and overhaul procedures, including the serial-split pump variants so you match the right unit.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Units p. 287Machine tracks unevenly, pulls to one side or will not turn
Work the travel circuit: travel motor, swivel joint and control valve are the usual suspects. The Troubleshooting section has a dedicated machine travel chapter to isolate the side and circuit, then Hydraulic Units gives the travel motor and swivel joint service procedures.
Manual Section: Troubleshooting - Machine travel p. 615Engine is hard to start or down on power
The bundled Yanmar manual handles this end to end: valve clearance checks (0.15 to 0.25 mm on TNV82 through 4TNV98 engines), injection pump and governor service, and nozzle testing. The separate injection pump service manual covers full pump disassembly, plunger and nozzle work.
Manual Section: Yanmar Engine - Inspection and Adjustment / Fuel Injection Pump p. 666Slew (swing) noise, play or jerky rotation
Start at the slew motor before condemning the swing bearing. The Hydraulic Units section covers slew motor removal, inspection and overhaul with the relevant serial-number variants, and the Troubleshooting section helps separate hydraulic causes from mechanical wear in the swing system.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Units - Slew motor p. 287Frequently Asked Questions
Does this manual cover my serial number?
The book covers TB125 from serial 12510003, TB135 from 13510004 and TB145 from 14510004. It matters here more than on most machines: the Hydraulic Units section splits parts by serial range - for example a different hydraulic pump for TB125 S/N 12510009 to 12512125 versus 12512126 onward. Check your pin plate against those ranges before ordering hydraulic parts.
Is the engine manual included, or do I have to buy the Yanmar book separately?
It is included, and not as a summary chapter. Pages 666-1021 are the complete Yanmar engine workshop manual: inspection and adjustment, troubleshooting, lubrication and cooling systems, fuel injection pump and governor, turbocharger, starting motor, alternator, wiring, service standards and tightening torques. On top of that, pages 1022-1087 are a separate injection pump service manual for full pump and governor teardown. p. 666
What digging dimensions does it list?
The Specifications section tables every model and variant. As a sample, the TB125 with canopy and rubber crawlers runs 4410 mm long, 1460 mm wide, 2445 mm high, with 2580 mm max digging depth, 1935 mm vertical digging depth, 4290 mm digging height, 3030 mm dumping height and 4435 mm ground digging radius. TB135 and TB145 get their own tables. p. 25
Does it cover cab and canopy machines, and the long arm option?
Yes. The Specifications section carries separate tables for canopy and cab variants, rubber crawler variants and the long arm variant, for each of the three models. Machine Configuration also covers the air conditioner system for cab machines and the security system, alongside the hydraulic and electrical systems.
Are there fault codes to read on these machines?
No, and the manual is honest about it. These are mechanical machines: you diagnose them with a pressure gauge, a tape measure and your eyes, not a scan tool. The Troubleshooting section walks overall machine and travel symptoms back to causes, and the Hydraulic Units section gives the test and inspection procedures to confirm them.
