Looking for the Hitachi ZAXIS70 Technical + Workshop Manual PDF straight from the factory? All 1017 pages of it are here (Technical Manual OEM #TO1CDE-00 plus Workshop Manual OEM #W1CDE-00), covering the ZAXIS70 and 70LC hydraulic excavators end to end. Inside: full electrical circuit diagrams, hydraulic schematics for the pump device, control valve, swing and travel devices, plus a huge troubleshooting section with fault code diagnosis and operational performance tests. You also get the Workshop Manual's disassembly and assembly procedures for the upperstructure, undercarriage, and front attachment, right down to cab glass removal and installation. Set the travel main relief to 31.4 MPa and fit a 12 micron full flow filter element, not whatever your parts counter guesses. Chasing an Icx system fault with no diagrams gets old fast. Bookmarked PDF with a real text layer; type a spec, jump straight to it, and get wrenching.

Hitachi ZAXIS70, ZAXIS70LC Common Problems This Manual Covers
Hitachi ZAXIS70 control valve leaking hydraulic oil, spools sticking, bucket and arm functions weak
Test main relief pressure against the 26.0 MPa front attachment setting listed on page 21. If spools leak externally, replace the O-rings; Hitachi calls for new control valve O-rings every 2 years per the schedule on page 461. When reassembling, torque the coupling bolts to 10.3 to 12.4 N·m as shown on page 531.
Manual Section: Front Attachment System Troubleshooting p. 21Engine stalls under load or cranks but won't start after fuel filter change
Drain the water separator and replace the fuel filter; hand-tighten until the gasket seats, then turn an additional 1/3 to 2/3 of a turn with a filter wrench per page 815. Bleed air from the lines, replace fuel hoses from tank to filter every 2 years (page 461), then verify the engine holds rated speed at 2100 min-1.
Manual Section: Engine System Troubleshooting p. 815All hydraulic functions slow, boom raise delayed once the oil warms up
Check hydraulic oil level, then replace the full flow filter element; it is rated at 12 µm, and a clogged element starves both pumps (page 23). Test pump output against the 63 L/min per pump theoretical flow listed on page 21, and clean the 177 µm suction filter in the tank before condemning the pump.
Manual Section: All Actuator System Troubleshooting p. 23Machine pulls to one side when traveling, track shoes wearing unevenly
Measure grouser wear first: shoe dimension C standard is 20 mm (0.79 in) with an allowable limit of 14 mm (0.55 in) per page 735, so replace shoes past the limit. Check travel relief pressure against the 31.4 MPa setting on page 21, then inspect both travel circuits for a sticking spool.
Manual Section: Swing/Travel/Blade System Troubleshooting p. 735Swing sluggish and upperstructure drifts on slopes even with parking brake applied
Test swing relief pressure against the 26.0 MPa spec on page 21, then verify swing parking brake release pressure falls within 1.2 to 2.3 MPa. Time a full rotation; anything well below the rated 11.3 min-1 swing speed listed on page 7 points to internal motor leakage rather than brake drag.
Manual Section: Swing/Travel/Blade System Troubleshooting p. 21Frequently Asked Questions
What is the valve clearance specification for the engine?
The valve clearance for both intake and exhaust valves is 0.40 mm when the engine is cold. p. 18
What is the tightening torque for the track shoe bolts?
The track shoe bolts should be tightened to 245 N⋅m (25 kgf⋅m, 180 lbf⋅ft). p. 453
How do I troubleshoot a starter that does not rotate?
Check if the battery voltage and electrolyte density are normal and if the fusible link (45 A, 65 A) is blown. If these are normal, check for 24 V at the battery relay terminal A and check for continuity between the battery positive terminal and key switch terminal #1. p. 290
What is the procedure for bleeding air from the hydraulic pump?
Remove the air bleeding plug from the top of the pump and fill the pump housing with hydraulic oil. Temporarily tighten the plug, start the engine, and run at slow idle speed. Slightly loosen the plug to bleed air until hydraulic oil oozes out, then securely tighten the plug. p. 446
What is the standard injection timing for the AA-4JG1 engine?
The standard injection timing for the AA-4JG1 engine is 10 degrees before T.D.C. p. 18
How quickly can I access this Hitachi ZAXIS70, ZAXIS70LC manual after buying?
This is a 1017-page searchable PDF ready for immediate download. Works on any device, so pull it up on your phone while you're under the hood. No shipping, no waiting.
Can I print specific sections of this Hitachi ZAXIS70, ZAXIS70LC manual?
Yes, print as many copies as you want, and there are no restrictions. Many mechanics print the section they need and bring it to the shop floor.
