Bolens
Bolens repair manuals in PDF. These are the factory service publications for the garden tractors Bolens built in Port Washington, Wisconsin: tube frame, medium frame, and large frame machines from the 1960s onward, the late DuraTrac hydrostatics, and the Iseki-built diesels. Start with the 1502H and 1704H hydrostatic drive manual if you run one of the Iseki-Bolens compacts, or the medium tube frame service manual, one book for the 600 through 1225 models, the 1050 included.
Bolens quit building tractors decades ago, and the dealer network went with it. Today’s Bolens badge sells new mowers and has nothing for these machines. What survives is the factory paper: manuals carrying original Bolens publication numbers such as 552875-1 and 176-2324, with the factory’s own wiring diagrams, transaxle procedures, and torque tables.

Choosing the Right Bolens Manual
Bolens organized its tractors by frame, and the manuals follow suit: each book prints the models it covers right on the cover, so start by finding your model number there. The medium frame book covers the 1058 through 1858 models. Large frame tractors, 2086 through 2389 with the HT and HDT nameplates, get a volume of their own, and the DuraTrac manual picks up the 5117H through 5120H hydrostatics along with the GT models they grew out of. An H in a model number means hydrostatic drive. Engines were bought in, not built: Briggs & Stratton, Tecumseh, Wisconsin, or Kohler depending on model and year, plus Japanese diesels in the Iseki-built compacts, so knowing which engine your year carries is step one for any parts order. Repair manuals carry procedures and wiring; parts catalogs carry the exploded views and original part numbers, for the DuraTrac line and the 18322 tiller attachment so far.
Are these the same manuals Bolens dealers used?
Yes. These are the service and parts publications Bolens printed for its own dealer channel, publication number on the cover. The large frame service manual, publication 552665-5, is the book a dealer mechanic opened to set drive control linkage on an HT 23. There is no factory channel left to compare against: the brand passed through Garden Way and then MTD, and neither supports the old tractors. Free forum scans cover a few models, usually with pages missing; the complete books are what you get here.
What format are the files and how do I open them?
Standard PDF, nothing needed beyond a free reader. Most owners keep the file on a tablet in the garage and print the odd page for the bench: the belt routing before dropping a mower deck, the ignition pages before chasing a no-spark. One file covers a whole series: the QS, QT and 1900 series manual serves every model on its cover, and the Troy-Bilt/Bolens Suburban manual sorts its ST-series models by year and serial number so you can confirm yours before you buy.
