Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
This is the factory repair manual for the New Holland TM120, TM130, TM140, TM155, TM175 and TM190 tractors, part number 87611250. At 7954 pages it is the largest book in this range, and the reason is diagnostics: the electrical section alone runs from page 1635 to page 7942, and more than four thousand of those pages are step-by-step diagnostic procedures written per error code, split by transmission family and serial-number break. The engine section tabulates all six tractors side by side, from the 90 kW TM120 to the 168 kW TM190.

New Holland TM120-TM190 Common Problems This Manual Covers
The tractor logs an error code and you cannot find the procedure for it.
Identify the transmission family and the serial-number break first. The fault-code descriptions are split between chapter 10 and chapter 10A precisely because a Full Powershift before serial number ACM263461 does not use the same codes as later machines, and the diagnostic procedures then split again between chapters 10B and 10C. Read the description chapter that matches your tractor, then follow only the procedure chapter it points to.
Manual Section: SECTION 55 - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Fault Code Descriptions (Chapters 10 and 10A)The engine is down on power, or two tractors of different models behave differently on the same job.
Check the rating and the governor type. Gross power runs from 90 kW on the TM120 to 168 kW on the TM190, and the split matters: the TM120 to TM155 use a mechanical governor with no boost, while the TM175 and TM190 use an electronic governor with boost. A mechanical machine will never behave like an electronic one under load, and their idle speeds differ too. Then run the compression test, which should read 25.5 bar at a 200 rpm cranking speed.
Manual Section: SECTION 10 - ENGINEThe rear lift or a remote valve is slow, or the draft control behaves oddly.
The hydraulic section runs from page 1061 to page 1518 and covers the pump and supply circuit, the electronic draft control lift, the remote control valves and the three-point linkage, along with the pressure test procedure. Because draft control is electronic here, pull any stored code before you strip a valve: the electrical section's diagnostic chapters cover the lift sensors and their circuits directly.
Manual Section: SECTION 35 - HYDRAULIC SYSTEMFrequently Asked Questions
Which tractors does this manual cover?
All six TM tractors: TM120, TM130, TM140, TM155, TM175 and TM190, under part number 87611250. New Holland also published this range under part number 6045511102, a separate edition; if your paperwork cites one number, use that book.
What power does each tractor make?
Gross power to ISO TR14396: 90 kW (121 Bhp) on the TM120, 98 kW (131 Bhp) on the TM130, 107 kW (143 Bhp) on the TM140, 114 kW (153 Bhp) on the TM155, 156 kW (209 Bhp) on the TM175 and 168 kW (225 Bhp) on the TM190. Each has its own engine designation, from TA/HD on the TM120 through to TA/FA on the TM190.
What is the difference between the smaller and larger TM engines?
Governor and boost. The TM120 through TM155 run a mechanical governor with no boost, with an 800 rpm low idle and a 2375 rpm high idle. The TM175 and TM190 run an electronic governor with boost, and their idle speeds are 920 and 2380 rpm. Rated speed is 2200 rpm across all six, and they share the 6-cylinder 7500 cc block with a 111.8 mm bore, a 127.0 mm stroke and a 17.5:1 compression ratio.
Why is this manual so large?
Because of the diagnostics. The electrical section runs from page 1635 to page 7942, and two chapters of it, 10B and 10C, are step-by-step diagnostic procedures written one error code at a time, filling roughly four thousand two hundred pages between them. The fault-code descriptions that precede them are split by transmission family and by serial-number break, so the procedure you follow matches the controller your tractor actually has.
How big is the manual and can I search it?
It runs to 7954 pages in English and is a searchable, printable PDF. Search the text, print the pages you need for the bench, and keep the rest on a laptop in the workshop.
