Wrenching on a Gehl R190, R220, R260 or Mustang 1900R, 2200R, 2600R skid-steer loader? This 306-page Gehl service manual PDF (OEM #50950134) covers all six machines built on the shared Manitou Americas platform. Inside: wiring schematics for chasing electrical gremlins, hydrostatic and hydraulic schematics for T-Bar, dual joystick and hand/foot control setups, a dedicated troubleshooting guide, and a full error code section for decoding warning lights. You also get exploded views plus page after page of step-by-step procedures, from chaincase service to cooling system drains. Before you crack a hydraulic fitting, relieve system pressure: key ON, engine off, restraint bar down, then cycle the lift, tilt and auxiliary controls. No more chasing wiring faults with a multimeter and a prayer. Bookmarked with a real text layer; jump straight to any section or find a spec by keyword.

Gehl R190/R220/R260 (Mustang 1900R/2200R/2600R) Common Problems This Manual Covers
Gehl R190 lift arm drifts downward under load and won't hold raised position
Test for drift with the bucket raised: mark the cylinder rod and wait 15 minutes; more than 0.75 inch (19 mm) of retraction (page 179) means worn piston seals. Before pulling the cylinder, relieve pressure with the key ON and engine off, cycling the lift, tilt and auxiliary controls per page 19, then replace the seal kit.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting Guide p. 179Jerky lift arm and bucket action, oil weeping past the lift cylinder rod seal
Engage the lift arm support device before any cylinder work: raise the arm fully, shut off the engine, and let the device drop over the cylinder rod. Remove the cylinder, replace the rod and piston seals, and torque the piston locknut to 350 ft.-lbs. (474 N·m) as specified on page 191.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting Guide p. 191Starter won't engage or engine turns over slowly on cold winter mornings
Test the battery under load before condemning the starter; these machines spec a 950 CCA battery (page 9). Clean and tighten both cable ends and the ground strap at the frame. If the battery passes, check the keyswitch and start circuit. Never bypass the keyswitch; use the jump-starting procedure in the Operator's Manual instead (page 16).
Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting GuideLift arm drops suddenly during service, support device lynch pin missing from storage post
Inspect the support device and lynch pin before raising the arm for service. Have an assistant lower the device over the cylinder rod, then settle the arm until the device seats against the cylinder end. Reinstall the lynch pin through the welded steel post afterward (page 18). Even a healthy cylinder can drift 0.75 inch (19 mm) in 15 minutes.
