Mustang
Mustang has built skid steers since 1965, and these service manuals in PDF follow that line from the 1980s 930, 940, and 960 through the 2066, 2076, and 2086, plus MTL and RT track loaders, ME compact excavators, ML and AL wheel loaders, and telehandlers.
Each book centers on the machine: the hydraulic system, the hydrostatic drive, chain cases and final drives, controls, and the electrical system with wiring diagrams. The 2042, 2044, and 2054 manual, part number 000-78025, also documents the Yanmar 4TNE84 and 4TNV88 engines on those loaders and walks through setting the neutral centering on the drive.

Choosing the Right Mustang Manual
Every book in Mustang Repair Manuals is a full service manual, so the choice comes down to model and serial. Mustang started in Owatonna, Minnesota, and has belonged to Manitou Group, through Gehl, since 2008. That history explains why some machines also exist under a Gehl model name. If you run a 2064 or 2074, or a track loader like the MTL20, buy by the Mustang model on the decal. For newer R and V series loaders sold under both names, also check the Gehl manuals.
Does the Mustang book carry its original form number?
Yes. The MTL20 manual is form 917101, 502 pages, and takes the HST pump, travel motors, control valve, and self-level valve apart with servicing standards, plus a chapter on its Isuzu engine. The 1750RT, 2100RT, and 2500RT manual, part number 50940165, flags the serial number breaks between the Yanmar and Deutz engine versions.
How long are the Mustang books?
Size depends on the era. The 930, 940, and 960 manual runs 134 pages and includes the supplement for the E-series 920E, 930A, and 940E. The 2042, 2044, and 2054 book is 143 pages, the MTL20 book 502, and the RT series book 440.
