This ASV RC-50 Service Manual (OEM #ASVSP002) was built around one job: keeping your RC-50, RC-50 Turf Edition, RC-60, or RC-30 rubber track loader running at factory spec. Disassembly and assembly procedures cover the hydrostatic and aux pump, undercarriage, loader, and operator enclosure. Hydraulic schematics trace the full drive control, loader valve, aux pump, and drive motor circuits; the electrical schematic maps lap bar switch, door switch, seat switch, and fuel sender wiring. Need your drive motor mounting bolts torqued right? The factory number is 160 ft-lbs, not a forum estimate. No more stitching together three PDFs to find one value. Bookmarked and keyword-searchable, this manual opens on any device, so you can pull up the right procedure before you touch a wrench.

ASV RC-50, RC-50 Turf Edition, RC-60, RC-30 Common Problems This Manual Covers

ASV RC-50 track makes loud popping noise under heavy load or while turning

Inspect the undercarriage for worn drive teeth or loose sprockets. Measure track deflection by applying 50 lbs of force to the track. Adjust the tension until deflection measures exactly 0.5-0.75 inch as shown on page 69. Replace severely worn track lugs right away to prevent derailing.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting Procedures
Engine starts normally but the safety circuit intermittently prevents all hydraulic functions from operating p. 75

Verify operator presence switch and lap bar connections using the electrical schematic on page 162. Test the safety fuse and inspect the main power relay. For the RC-50, check the charge pressure and confirm it reads between 400-450 psi as specified on page 71. Clean all ground terminals.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting Procedures
Loader arms operate fine but auxiliary hydraulic attachments have no flow or pressure p. 75

Test the auxiliary pump relief pressure to confirm it reaches exactly 3000 psi. Review page 75 for instructions on checking faulty ground wires or a stuck pilot generation spool. Inspect the quick couplers so they sit fully seated, free of dirt and debris.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting Procedures
Loader functions work perfectly but the rubber tracks refuse to move in either direction p. 75

Examine the feed line to the pilot control for severe leaks. Verify the drive motor mounting bolts are torqued to 160 ft-lbs as noted on page 9. Check page 75 to diagnose pilot control valve malfunctions or low pilot pressure preventing drive engagement.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting Procedures
Hot oil warning light illuminates and the hydraulic system operates abnormally hot during use

Drain and replace the hydraulic fluid if it exceeds the 500 hours change interval shown on page 65. Inspect the oil cooler assembly for debris plugging the fins. Check the fan belt tension and replace any broken cooling fan blades right away to restore airflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start the ASV RC-50 after shutdown?

To start the machine after shutdown, first enter with lift arms down, fasten the seat belt, and lower the lap bar. Push the throttle 1/3 open, turn the ignition key left for 6 seconds to pre-heat, then turn it right to start the engine. Run the engine at low idle for 3 to 5 minutes to warm up, then set the throttle to the desired rpm. The parking brake automatically engages when the engine is off, the operator is not in the seat, or the lap bar is raised.

What are the replacement specifications for Hydraulic filter?

Change the hydraulic filter every 250 service hours. The ASV Part Number for the hydraulic oil filter element is 0200-204. Take extreme care to keep the working environment clean and stop any debris from entering the hydrostatic system during replacement.
