When a travel pump loses charge pressure and strands your single-drum wheel drive vibratory roller on the mat, this 810-page Bomag BW 213 repair manual PDF holds the factory procedures to fix it. Issued under OEM ID 008 190 94, the document covers the BW 213, 213 D, 213 PD, and 213 PDB variants. Extensive hydraulic schematics map out the travel and vibration circuits so you can accurately diagnose fluid drops. Troubleshooting charts break down engine faults and travel drive issues, while dedicated sections walk through exchanging the vibration motor and dismantling the articulated joint. Factory specifications guide your wrench, confirming the M8 x 1 fine thread bolt torque at 27 Nm and setting the single-amplitude vibration frequency target to exactly 1800/min. Guessing a charge pressure on a closed-loop travel pump will just blow the seals out of a replacement motor. Download this bookmarked, searchable file and print the pages you need to take straight to the workbench.

Bomag BW 213, BW 213 D, BW 213 PD, BW 213 PDB Common Problems This Manual Covers

Bomag BW 213 drum vibration stops mid-pass or will not start when rolling a lift

Check the vibration circuit starting pressure on page 492. Verify the gauge reads 190..210 bar (400 bar on BW213D/PD models). If pressure is good, inspect the vibration sensor cable and plug at the drum drive motor for breaks. Test the frequency at 1800/min (30 Hz) per page 491.

Manual Section: Checks and Adjustments in the Vibration Circuit p. 492
Engine cranks slowly or runs excessively rough and stalls out with a fuel warning

Measure the battery acid density using the guidelines on page 100. Confirm a full charge reading of 1.28 kg/l. If the battery is healthy, inspect the fuel system water separator. Drain any water and fill the 195 L fuel tank with clean diesel, then bleed the fuel lines completely.

Manual Section: Trouble Shooting p. 100
Display goes blank, machine enters limp mode, and steering or travel feels abnormal

Inspect the battery connections and verify the main electrical circuits on page 796. Check the battery fuse rating and replace if it exceeds 8 A. Inspect the CAN wiring harness connectors near the steering unit and articulated joint for corrosion. Tighten any loose M4 electrical bracket bolts to 3 Nm.

Manual Section: Circuit Diagrams p. 796
Machine will not travel forward or reverse, or the drum drive motor feels jerky

Verify the closed-loop travel pump and travel motor connections. Drain and inspect the planetary gear oil, then refill to the 2 L capacity. If the drive remains jerky, check the M8 x 1 fine thread bolts on the motor mounting and torque them to 27 Nm using page 37.

Manual Section: Torques p. 37

Frequently Asked Questions

Torque spec for M10 socket-head cap screws on the Bomag BW 213, BW 213 D, BW 213 PD, BW 213 PDB drum motor flange?

The mounting screws for the drum motor flange must be tightened to a torque of 330 Nm. p. 315

What is the required valve clearance for the Deutz F6L 912 engine?

The valve clearance for the Deutz F6L 912 engine, when the engine is cold, is 0.15 mm. p. 47

What is the correct oil capacity for the differential on the BW 213?

The differential requires 12 liters of SAE 90 gear oil. p. 49

What is the procedure for bleeding the hydraulic travel circuit?

Bleeding is performed by running the engine at idling speed and moving the travel actuation lever in the 'forwards' direction. This process must be repeated until the charge pressure indicated on the low-pressure gauge drops immediately to 0 when the diesel engine is shut down. p. 438

What is the nominal charge pressure for the vibration circuit on a Bomag BW 213, BW 213 D, BW 213 PD, BW 213 PDB?

The nominal charge pressure for the vibration circuit is approximately 22 bar. p. 508

How quickly can I access this Bomag BW 213 manual after buying?

Immediate download of the complete 810-page searchable Repair Manual. Access it on any device, from a laptop at your desk to a phone in the field.

Can I print this Bomag BW 213 manual?
