What's inside: three FiatAllis books bound into one 1,306-page file for the FX250 crawler excavator - the volumes dealers sold separately. Pages 1-105 are the Operation and Maintenance manual (introduction, operation, inspection and servicing, repair work and the annex). Pages 106-605 are the illustrated Parts Manual: undercarriage, hydraulic and fuel tanks, swings, counter balance, engine, travel and slewing gear, swing brake, hydraulic system, heater, greasing system, electrical system and sheet metal. Pages 606-1306 are the Service Manual - the FiatAllis Technical Handbook - running its numbered sections from How To Use and Specifications through General, Superstructure, Diesel Boxes, Undercarriage, Front-End Attachments, Hydraulic System, Electrical System and Equipment to the EDS operating instructions, fittings, pipes and hoses, welding for maintenance and repair, and the sealing, protective, checking and cleaning agents. On diagrams, precisely: the Technical Handbook explains circuits and refers to them by component number, and it carries sectional views of the hydraulic components and the electrical procedures - including emergency operation of the proportional valve when the electronic regulator fails - but it does not print drawn wiring or hydraulic schematic sheets.

FiatAllis FX250 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Slow or weak boom, arm or bucket action and you do not know if it is pump, relief valve or cylinder.
Work Section 10 Troubleshooting first to narrow the circuit, then Section 7 Hydraulic System for test and repair procedure, checking your readings against the factory figures in Section 2 Specifications before pulling anything apart.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 7 - Hydraulic SystemWorn undercarriage - stretched chains, cupped rollers, loose track tension and you need to know what is serviceable and what is scrap.
Section 5 Undercarriage in the Service Manual gives the teardown and adjustment procedures, and the superstructure Parts Manual identifies every roller, idler and link by number so you order the right replacements the first time.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 5 - Undercarriage p. 964Warning light or gauge acting up and you cannot tell which sensor or relay feeds it.
Section 9 Electrical System covers circuit operations, and the 88-item wiring diagram component legend names every sensor, relay, fuse link, gauge and indicator on the machine, which lets you identify what you are probing before you start pulling connectors.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 9 - Electrical System p. 606Pins, bushings and play in the front-end attachment, or a cylinder that needs resealing on the boom or arm.
Section 6 Front-End Attachments carries removal, disassembly and installation procedure for the digging gear, and the Parts Manual superstructure book supplies the exploded views and part numbers for pins, bushings and seal kits.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 6 - Front-End Attachments p. 1073Frequently Asked Questions
Does this set cover hydraulic system repair, or just operation?
Full repair. Section 7 of the Service Manual is the Hydraulic System, and it sits alongside Section 2 Specifications so you can check pressures and settings against factory numbers instead of guessing. The Operation and Maintenance book handles the daily-check side separately. p. 606
Is there electrical coverage? My machine has gauge and warning-light gremlins.
Section 9 covers the electrical system including circuit operations. The book includes the wiring diagram component legend - 88 numbered items from the batteries, master relay, starter solenoid and fuse links through the wiper motor, EDM, air-cleaner clogging sensor, coolant and fuel level sensors, every warning indicator and gauge. Note the drawn schematic sheet itself is not present in this file, so plan on the legend plus circuit descriptions for tracing.
Can I look up part numbers for the undercarriage and attachments?
Yes. The Parts Manual is split into an engine book and a superstructure book, and the superstructure volume includes the attachments, undercarriage, decals and optional equipment. Exploded illustrations with numbers, the way you need them for cross-referencing rollers, idlers and pins.
Are these three separate manuals or one combined book?
Three separate FiatAllis publications bound into one file: Operation and Maintenance, the illustrated Parts Manual and the Service Manual. Dealers sold them individually, so getting all three together is the whole shelf for the machine in one place.
Does it explain break-in and daily operating procedure for a machine new to me?
The Operation and Maintenance manual has a Preliminary Instructions and Break-in Period section plus full Operating Instructions, Safety Rules and Specifications. If you just bought an FX250 and never ran one, start there before you touch the service side.
