Your CT7-23 Turbo just crossed 500 hours and nobody can find the service list, which is what this Gehl CT7-23 Turbo operator manual PDF puts back in your hands: 108 pages, Form No. 913343, for this telescopic handler. Maintenance fills roughly a third of the book, running from the daily checks through the 50, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 hour intervals and finishing on the hydraulic and electrical schematics you trace when a function quits. Load charts, attachment load zone charts, the signal lamp panel and the steering mode selector are explained before the boom leaves the ground. Change the engine oil filter and the 15-micron hydraulic return cartridge every 500 hours, clean the dry air filter every 50, and torque the suction strainer cover to 60 ft.-lbs. (81 Nm). One wrong filter can cost you a hydraulic pump. Searchable text and section bookmarks come with it; buy once and the file stays yours for this machine.

Gehl CT7-23 Turbo Common Problems This Manual Covers

Gehl CT7-23 Turbo telescopic handler hydraulic functions do not operate when using the hydraulic controls

Turn the steering wheel to recharge the hydraulic control accumulator, as the note on page 46 directs; hydraulic functions should return. Do not try to change system pressure by adjusting the pressure regulating valve. If functions stay dead, leave the accumulator alone: page 56 warns it is under pressure and only trained personnel at your dealer may disassemble it.

Manual Section: Instruments and Controls p. 46
Warning lamp on the control and signal lamp panel stays lit or flashes with engine running

Stop the telescopic handler under the safest possible conditions if a warning lamp comes on while moving. Lower the forks or attachment to the ground, apply the parking brake and put the forward/reverse lever in neutral (page 26). A permanently lit or flashing lamp with the engine running means an operating fault; per page 38, do not ignore it and contact your dealer without delay.

Manual Section: Instruments and Controls p. 38
Battery repeatedly becomes discharged and does not have enough power to start the engine

Jump-start with two people following page 25, using a 12-volt negative-ground jumper battery. Connect positive to the disabled machine first, then make the final negative connection to the engine block or frame, not the battery post. Never jump a frozen battery. Keep sparks and flames away from the battery. Do not crank more than 15 seconds (page 24). If it keeps going flat, check for dead cells, short circuits or damaged wire insulation.

Manual Section: Jump-Starting Procedure p. 25
Hydraulic oil leaking at a hose or fitting found during the daily walk-around

Stop the engine and remove the ignition key before touching anything (page 56). Never use your hands to search for the leak; page 19 warns that escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate skin and must be surgically removed. Do not loosen hoses or connections with the circuit under pressure. Repair the leak immediately, even if minor, and top up with ISO VG46 hydraulic oil (page 55).

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Maintenance p. 56
Fuel pre-filter showing water and impurities when checked during routine maintenance on the machine

Stop the engine and remove the ignition key (page 56), then drain the water and impurities from the fuel pre-filter following page 61. Replace the fuel filter cartridge (part number 219994) and the fuel water separator (part number 215350) every 500 H per page 54. Refill only with high-quality diesel fuel specified to EN590 or ASTM D975, as page 55 lists.

Manual Section: Fuel Pre-Filter Check p. 61
Dry air filter cartridge and cyclonic pre-filter loaded with dust between scheduled service intervals

Stop the engine and remove the key first (page 56). Clean the cyclonic pre-filter every 10 H and the dry air filter cartridge every 50 H (page 54). Blow the cartridge out with compressed air at no more than 30 psi (2 bar), top to bottom and inside toward outside, keeping the jet at least 1 inch (25 mm) from the wall (page 63). Replace it at 500 H.
