Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
Built for the New Holland TK4.80F, TK4.80N and TK4.80V crawler tractors without cab, North American spec with the F5DFL413E*E001 engine. This is service manual 51543561, in English, dated March 2019. It prints no serial number range, so match it to your tractor by model and engine code.
It covers the engine, the clutch, and the transmission with creeper and reverser. Final drives and the two-speed rear PTO have their own chapters. So do the steering clutches, the three-point hitch and both the 125 mm and 140 mm pitch track chains. It also has wiring schematic sheets and fault code procedures.
The book gives the drive wheel shaft locknut torque of 882 N·m (651 lb ft), the steering clutch pressures and the hitch lifting loads you need at the bench.

New Holland TK4.80V, TK4.80N, TK4.80F Common Problems This Manual Covers
The gearshift levers and variant levers are hard to engage
The Transmission/Rear drive troubleshooting table names stiff or partly seized external levers and linkages as the cause. The remedy it prints is to check the linkage pivots and lubricate them. The external controls section shows how the linkage is laid out.
Manual Section: Transmission - Transmission/Rear drive - Troubleshooting p. 341The rear lift does not rise
For this complaint, the Three-point hitch control valve troubleshooting table points to a clogged oil filter. The remedy is to replace the filter. The Hydraulic Systems chapter covers the three-point hitch control valve and the main lift system, and gives the lift cylinder safety valve calibration of 210 - 215 bar (3045 - 3117.5 psi).
Manual Section: Hydraulic systems - Three-point hitch control valve - Troubleshooting on rear lift p. 531A steering clutch sticks and drags
The Steering clutches troubleshooting table blames deformed clutch discs. The remedy is to replace the discs. Use the sectional views to rebuild the pack in the right order. The specifications give 27 - 29 bar on the first stop and 84 - 86 bar on full steering.
Manual Section: Steering clutches - Steering clutch - Troubleshooting p. 686The final drives are noisy while the tractor is moving, even with the gears in neutral
The Powered rear axle troubleshooting table traces this to a faulty internal part. Remove the final drive housing and replace the damaged parts. On reassembly, torque the drive wheel retaining bolts to 314 N·m (232 lb ft) and the drive wheel shaft locknut to 882 N·m (651 lb ft). The bevel gear retaining bolt takes 216 N·m (159 lb ft).
Manual Section: Rear axle system - Powered rear axle - Troubleshooting p. 425Frequently Asked Questions
Which New Holland crawler tractors does this service manual cover?
New Holland service manual 51543561, in English and dated March 2019, covers the TK4.80F, TK4.80N and TK4.80V. All three are listed without cab for North America, with engine F5DFL413E*E001. The book prints no serial number range for these models, so check the fit by model and engine code. p. 3
How much can the rear three-point hitch lift?
The maximum lifting load is 3535 kg at the horizontal arm-link ends. With the centre of gravity 610 mm from the lower arm-link ends, it drops to 1935 kg. Both figures are over the full lifting stroke with the top link in the upper hole. They are the same for the TK4.80F, TK4.80V and TK4.80N. p. 490
What steering clutch pressures does the manual give?
With the manipulator on the first stop, steering clutch working pressure is 27 - 29 bar (27.5 - 29.5 Kg/cm²). On full steering it is 84 - 86 bar (85.6 - 87.7 Kg/cm²). p. 655
What engine speed gives 540 RPM at the PTO?
The engine speed with the power take-off at 540 RPM is 1958 RPM. For the TK4.80F, TK4.80V and TK4.80N, the 540 RPM PTO is listed as available on request. p. 432
Does the manual include wiring diagrams and fault codes?
Yes. The Harnesses and connectors chapter has electrical schematic sheets with component lists, from sheet 04 (power distribution unit) to sheet 42 (CAN 1, ROPS). The FAULT CODES chapter gives a procedure for each code. Examples are 3007 - Coolant Temperature Sensor - Signal Above Range Maximum and 3177 - Engine Overspeed Detected. The hydraulic chapter has diagrams of the auxiliary control valve operating stages, but no single overall hydraulic schematic of the tractor. p. 853
