Written for the TB070 compact excavator, this Takeuchi TB070 operator manual PDF is the full 125-page factory publication OL1-107E0, so you know every decal and control matches your machine. A hydraulic diagram traces pilot circuits to the boom, arm, bucket and swing cylinders and both travel motors, and the electrical diagram follows the battery, starter, fuse box and lever lock solenoid. Inspection and maintenance fills about a fifth of the book, backed by an interval chart, a troubleshooting chart for weak digging power or slewing faults, hose and fitting torque tables, and rated lift capacity charts. Set rubber crawler tension to 160 to 180 mm (steel crawlers: 260 to 280 mm), and change hydraulic oil every 1,000 hours, or every 600 if you run a breaker. A parked excavator burns crew hours by the minute. Bookmarked and text-searchable, the PDF includes the Ordering Parts and expendables pages, so your filter order is right the first time.

Takeuchi TB070 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Takeuchi TB070 engine oil pressure warning lamp flashing red and buzzer sounding with the engine running
Stop the engine as soon as the lamp lights. Page 27 warns that running on can seize every part of the engine. Check the engine oil level with the engine stopped. If the oil level is correct, the fault is somewhere else in the lubrication system, so have the engine checked at a service outlet before running it again.
Manual Section: Engine Oil Pressure Warning Lamp p. 27Coolant temperature warning lamp flashing red and gauge needle in the red zone above 103°C
Halt work immediately and let the engine drop to low idle on its own, as page 28 describes. Wait until the gauge needle returns to the green range (67 to 103°C) before stopping the engine. Once it has cooled, check the coolant level and inspect the fan belt for cuts, cracks or slack. Never remove the radiator cap right after running; page 41 warns of boiling water and steam.
Manual Section: Coolant Temperature Warning Lamp p. 28Engine emergency lamp flashing orange and engine shutting down by itself after about 15 seconds
Check whether the engine oil pressure lamp or the coolant temperature lamp is also flashing. Page 27 links the automatic shutdown to a lubrication fault and automatic low idle to coolant overheating. Find and fix the cause before restarting. Turn the starter switch to OFF for a moment, because the engine will not restart otherwise. Then have a service outlet inspect the machine before you use it again.
Manual Section: Engine Emergency Lamp p. 27Water separator warning lamp flashing red with buzzer when the starter switch is turned to ON
Drain the separator right away, following page 68. Open the right side cover, remove the plug and loosen the drain cock until the red float drops to the bottom of the separator. Close the drain cock and the plug firmly to prevent fuel leaks. Then purge the air from the fuel system, or the engine may fail to start.
Manual Section: Water Separator Warning Lamp p. 68Hydraulic oil level low on gauge and air in the circuit after a hydraulic oil and return filter change
Release tank pressure first with button T on the air breather; page 5 says to release all pressure before working on the hydraulic system. Bleed the pump before starting the engine: remove plug P and tighten it when oil overflows (page 64). At low idle, bleed the control valve and slew motor. Then slowly extend each cylinder to about 100mm short of its stroke end and retract it, about five times. Top up to the middle of the level gauge.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System p. 64Travel motor gear oil showing metal filings or powder when drained at the service interval
Inspect the drained travel motor oil for metal filings or powder at every change (page 66). If you find any, have a service outlet check the machine. If the oil is clean, refill with SAE 90 API GL-4 or GL-5 through the supply port until oil overflows the level check port (about 1.7 liters). Then travel slowly and check for leaks.
Manual Section: Inspection and Maintenance p. 66Frequently Asked Questions
What causes no hydraulic operation or insufficient operating power on a Takeuchi TB070?
A Takeuchi TB070 may fail to start due to insufficient hydraulic oil, the engine not being warmed up, low engine power, a defective pump or coupling, improper hydraulic oil, or a low relief valve pressure setting. Additionally, ensure the neutral-start system is functioning, as bypassing it is prohibited. p. 82
How do you bleed the fuel system on a Takeuchi TB070?
To purge air from the fuel system, turn the starter switch to the START position and operate the starter motor for 15 to 20 seconds. If the engine does not start, let the starter motor rest for one minute, then repeat the procedure two or three times. p. 68
How often should the engine oil and oil filter be replaced on a Takeuchi TB070?
The engine oil should be replaced every 250 hours, with an initial replacement after 50 hours. The engine oil filter cartridge should also be replaced every 250 hours, with an initial replacement after 50 hours. p. 81
What is the correct fan belt tension for the Takeuchi TB070?
The fan belt tension is normal if the deflection is 8 to 12 mm (0.3 to 0.47 in.) when pressed with a force of 10 kg (22 lbs.) in the middle of the belt span. p. 72
What is the tightening torque for the side cutter mounting bolts on a Takeuchi TB070?
The tightening torque for the side cutter mounting bolts is 686 to 735 N-m (506 to 542 ft-lb). After tightening, caulk the bolts with a punch at three spots along the periphery of the screw to prevent the nuts from coming loose. p. 75
