This is the factory service manual for the Bomag BM 2000/60 cold milling machine, the 31.5 tonne crawler unit with 2000 mm milling width and 0-320 mm depth, powered by the Deutz TCD 2015 V8 rated 440 kW (598 HP) at 1900 rpm. It is a wrench-in-hand book, not an operator leaflet: full CAN-Bus, parameter and diagnosis chapter, engine electrics with SERDIA diagnosis, valve adjustment, milling clutch and drum drive, conveyor belt tensioning, crawler track service and the pump transfer case. Bound in at the back are the supplier manuals for the steering/working pump, travel pump, conveyor belt pump, A6VM travel motor, travel gear, belt motor and sprinkling pump, plus hydraulic diagram B2630030 and wiring diagram DE012004.

Bomag BM 2000, BM 60 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Fault code on the multi-function display and nobody on site can read it
Start with the fault display procedure on page 517 (switch on, scroll through pages, settings), then work the fault-by-fault-code troubleshooting chart on page 439. The CAN-Bus chapter maps every ID node with its inputs and fusing, so you can trace which node reported it. Engine-side codes go through SERDIA per the Engine Electrics chapter.
Manual Section: CAN-Bus, Parameters and Diagnosis / Hydraulics fault display p.517 p. 205Milling drum bogging down or V-belt squealing under load
The Milling Drive chapter covers checking and replacing the milling drum V-belt and explains the whole power transmission through the reduction gear. If the belt is fine but drive still drops out under load, go to the milling clutch procedure in section 8.1 on page 462 before condemning anything expensive.
Manual Section: Milling Drive, Mechanics - section 8.1 p.462 p. 462Loading or unloading belt running off track or spilling millings
Follow the Conveyor Belts chapter: checking and tightening the conveyor belts, the tensioning procedure for both loading and unloading belts, plus checking the supporting rollers and safety ropes. Worn rollers make a freshly tensioned belt wander again within days, so the manual has you check them in the same pass, along with the belt lubrication points.
Manual Section: Conveyor Belts, Mechanics p. 502Machine crawls slower on one side or travel drive feels weak
The Hydraulics chapter includes the travel system service training material for the BM 2000/60 and the travel pump, and the bound-in A6VM travel motor supplier manual covers the motor side. Also check the pump transfer case oil level per its own chapter, since a starved pump drive gear mimics a hydraulic fault. Working speed should reach 0-30 m/min.
Manual Section: Hydraulics - Travel System Service Training / Suppliers Documentation - Travel Motor (A6VM) p. 522Frequently Asked Questions
Does this manual actually cover the electronics, or is it mechanical only?
It covers them properly. There is a dedicated CAN-Bus, Parameter and Diagnose chapter (pages 205-280) explaining the bus layout, ID nodes with their inputs and fusing, and the multi-function display. The troubleshooting section works fault by fault code, and the Engine Electrics chapter walks through the engine control unit, pin assignment, main relay and diagnosis with SERDIA, including how to replace the control unit correctly. p. 517
Are the valve clearance specs for the Deutz TCD 2015 V8 in here?
Yes. Intake is 0.25 mm and exhaust 0.3 mm, set with the angle method (90/108 degrees for the crank positions), counter nut torqued to 20 Nm. The Engine chapter also describes the TCD 2015 lubrication oil circuit, coolant circuit, fuel circuit and the MVS injection system, so you can trace a running problem instead of guessing. p. 205
Does it include the hydraulic pump and motor documentation, or just Bomag's own pages?
The supplier manuals are bound in: steering and working pump, travel pump, conveyor belt pump, the A6VM travel motor, travel gear, conveyor belt motor and the sprinkling pump (pages 915-938 for that one). That is the material you normally have to chase separately when a pump needs internal work or setting values. p. 462
What fluids and capacities does the book specify?
Fuel tank 1200 litres, hydraulic system 230 litres of HV 46 (ISO viscosity 46 mm2/s at 40 C), water tank 3300 litres for the sprinkling system. The Maintenance chapter covers engine oil grades, fuels, coolant and anti-freeze mix, and lubrication grease, so you can service it without calling a dealer for fluid specs. p. 502
Is the crawler track undercarriage service covered?
Yes, the Travel Drive chapter has it: checking the track plates (section 10.2, page 502), retightening the track shoe fastening screws (10.3), checking the track drive (10.4), plus lubrication points for the travel drive and steering system. On a 33.7 tonne machine fully tanked, loose track shoes are not something to leave for later. p. 425
