One factory book serves seven of Bomag's BW-5 tandem and combination rollers: 176 pages, OEM document 008 067 01, written for the operator's seat rather than the shop bench. Covering the BW 80 AD-5, 90 AD-5, 100 ADM-5, 90 SC-5, 100 SC-5, 100 ACM-5 and 100 SCC-5, this operator manual PDF walks you from pre-start checks through vibration control, crabwalk setting, both sprinkling systems, jump starting and towing. A maintenance table then schedules everything from the 10-hour oil and coolant checks out to the 3000-hour injection pump inspection, backed by a full fuels and lubricants chart and an engine troubleshooting chapter. Set the scrapers 2 mm off the rubber tires; drain up to 5 liters of sludge from the fuel tank at each 500-hour service. A roller parked mid-mat over one missing interval costs more than this file ever will. Pay once, and the bookmarked, text-searchable PDF is yours for the life of your machine.

Bomag BW 80–100 Series Common Problems This Manual Covers

Bomag BW 90 AD-5 engine cranks but will not start after sitting overnight

Check fuel level and battery connections, and confirm the electronic immobilizer is disarmed before cranking again. Work through the engine no-start table on page 169 step by step. Drain water and sludge from the fuel tank, up to 5 L (1.3 gal US) may come out, then bleed the fuel system and retry.

Manual Section: Engine Problems p. 169
Roller stops traveling once hydraulics warm up, travel lever has no effect

Check the hydraulic oil level on the sight glass and top up if low before restarting. Watch the display for warning lamps as the machine warms; indicator meanings start on page 61. If drive does not return, park safely and call service; if the machine must be moved, tow it at no more than 1 km/h (page 102).

Manual Section: Display and Control Elements p. 61
Engine keeps running after ignition key is turned to the off position

Press the emergency stop button to shut the engine down, then apply the parking brake. Inspect the visible wiring at the engine stop solenoid for chafed insulation and taped-over splices before condemning the solenoid itself. Review the correct shutdown sequence on page 88, and add a wiring check to every 250 hour service.

Manual Section: Operation p. 88
Water spray system not wetting the drum, asphalt sticking to drum surface

Drain and refill the water tank with clean water, then remove and flush each spray nozzle and the inline filter. Clean the scraper bars so buildup does not carry onto the drum; on rubber tires, set the scrapers 2 mm (0.08 in) off the tire surface (page 144). Wet the drum before the first pass.

Manual Section: Maintenance p. 144
Combination roller pulls to one side, rubber tires leaving uneven marks on mat

Measure the pressure in all rubber tires cold; on the BW 100 ACM-5 and BW 100 SCC-5, inflate to 2 to 2.5 bar and keep every tire equal (page 163). Check the tread for packed asphalt and clean it off. Uneven pressures steer the machine off line and print marks into the mat.

Manual Section: Maintenance p. 163
