What should the main relief pressure be on a 277B?
The work tool main relief is 23000 +/- 700 kPa (3336 +/- 102 psi) at high idle for the 267B, 277B and 287B. The 287B HF XPS runs 23000 +/- 1000 kPa. The Testing and Adjusting section walks you through the test port hookup, the adjustment procedure and the 24 +/- 3 N m (18 +/- 2 lb ft) locknut and cap torque when you button it back up. p. 2089
Is my 287B the high flow XPS, and does it matter?
It matters a lot for the auxiliary circuit. The standard 267B/277B/287B auxiliary line relief is 24500 +/- 700 kPa, but the 287B HF XPS is set at 31000 +/- 700 kPa (4496 psi). Set an XPS to the standard number and your high flow attachments will be down on power; set a standard machine to XPS pressure and you are overstressing the circuit. The manual lists both specs so you test against the right one.
What pilot pressure should I see?
Pilot system pressure is 3200 +/- 200 kPa (465 +/- 29 psi) at low idle and 3800 +/- 350 kPa at high idle. A properly charged pilot accumulator reads 900 +/- 100 kPa (130 +/- 15 psi). Low pilot pressure gives you lazy or dead joystick response before anything else fails, so this is one of the first tests worth running. p. 2128
What is the charge pump flow spec?
Minimum acceptable charge pump flow is 32 L/min (8.45 US gpm) measured at 18000 +/- 1000 kPa outlet pressure, 2000 +/- 10 rpm, with the oil at 45 +/- 5 C. Does this cover my serial number, and what about the 247B or 257B?
Coverage is 267B from serial prefix CYC00001-Up and 277B/287B from MDH00001-Up. The core machine sections are titled for the 267B, 277B and 287B only, so if you have a 247B or 257B this is not your set.
