Before the first cut you will be hitching up, setting the drive shaft length and tensioning belts, and this 92-page Claas Disco 2650 operator manual PDF (OEM ID 293 857.5) covers that work across eight variants of the Disco 3450, 3050 and 2650 disc mower family. Operation and maintenance fill most of the book, from cutting height, collision protection and swath discs to changing knives, replacing mower discs, conditioner tines and a malfunctions section, finished with a lubrication chart. Technical data shows you how to work out axle loads and minimum ballasting for your tractor. Fill the 2650 mower head with 4.0 litres of oil (5.0 on the 3450), and set suspension springs to 50 mm of free thread on the 3050 and 2650. Just you, the mower, and nobody to ask. Bookmarked and text-searchable, the PDF goes wherever the mower is parked, so this season's cut stays on schedule.

Claas Disco 2650, 3050, 3450 (Plus / C Plus) Common Problems This Manual Covers
Claas Disco disc mower knife blades worn, cutting irregular and high stubble on every pass
Inspect every knife blade before you head out and measure the blade width at point B. Replace any blade worn below 36 mm following page 73. Check the drilled hole too: once it has widened from 18 mm to 20 mm (page 76), swap the blade. A fresh set gets the stubble even again this season.
Manual Section: Knife Section Maintenance p. 73Pre-season knife holder inspection shows the knife section retainer pin worn thin
Measure the knife section retainer pin at point V whenever the knives come off. If it has worn down to 13 mm, stop and follow the replacement steps on page 75 before refitting any blades. Inspect the knife holder at the same time. Don't hang a new knife on a worn pin and hope it lasts through haying season.
Manual Section: Knife Section Maintenance p. 75Disc cutter bar leaving high stubble even after setting the cutting height adjustment
Adjust the tilt angle (Z) of the cutter bar to about 2 to 4° following page 42. In most fields that setting gives the right cutting height. Recheck the angle with the mower lowered into working position. Then make a short test pass and look at the stubble before you mow the whole field.
Manual Section: Operation p. 42Suspension springs set unevenly and the cutter bar showing poor ground adaptation in the field
Measure the free thread length on the suspension springs following page 81. On DISCO 3050 and 2650 machines without a conditioner, set it to 50 mm. Conditioner versions use their own figure on that same page. Set the springs evenly, lower the mower and watch how the cutter bar follows the ground on a test pass.
Manual Section: Maintenance p. 81Pre-season check shows mower head oil level low in the cutter bar
Check the mower head oil level following page 66 before the first cut. If it reads low or the oil change is due, drain the old oil completely and refill with the exact quantity listed for your model on that page. The DISCO 3450, 3050 and 2650 each take a different amount. Measure it out instead of guessing.
Manual Section: Mower Head Maintenance p. 66Conditioner gearbox oil level reading low at the oil level check before mowing
Check the conditioner gearbox oil level following page 65, then top up or change the oil as described there. Confirm which gearbox version you have before filling: Version A takes 1.0 litre and Version B takes 0.8 litre. Fill to the right figure for your version and the conditioner is ready for first cut.
Manual Section: Conditioner Gearbox Maintenance p. 65Frequently Asked Questions
How do you reset the overload protection on the mower?
The mower unit must be raised to bring it back into its working position, and the security system against driving off will engage again after short jerky resetting of the tractor. If the security system is triggered often, you may need to readjust the rubber spring by releasing the lock nut (3) and rotating the nut (4) through one revolution. p. 43
How do you adjust the cutting height and ground pressure?
The cutting height is adjusted by changing the tilt angle (Z) of the mower head, typically to about 2-4 degrees by lengthening or shortening the upper link. Ground pressure is adjusted via the suspension springs; for the outer section, use the latch (2) in hole C, and for the inner section, adjust the free thread length (e.g., 100 mm for DISCO 3450). p. 42
How do you replace the mower blades and blade holders?
To replace blades, use the fitting lever (1) to push down the knife holder and remove the section. Ensure new blades are fitted with the cutting edge facing downwards and that the knife section retaining pin (7) sits straight in the locating hole of the disc. p. 70
What is the knife fastening screw tightening torque on Claas DISCO 3450, 3050 and 2650 disc mowers?
The tightening torque for the knife fastening screw is 120 Nm. Always secure the nuts with DELO ML 5328 (Part no. 201 802.1) or Loctite Type 242 (Part no. 666 285.0) every time they are replaced. p. 76
What is the oil filling capacity for the mower head gearbox on Claas DISCO 3450, 3050 and 2650 mowers?
The oil filling capacity for the mower head gearbox depends on the model: 5.0 litres for the DISCO 3450, 4.5 litres for the DISCO 3050/3050 C, and 4.0 litres for the DISCO 2650/2650 C. Use only EP SAE 90 gear oil. p. 66
