Daewoo Solar 175LC-V Common Problems This Manual Covers

Daewoo Solar 175LC-V upper structure won't swing under load, brake drags and rotation stalls halfway

Check pilot pressure at the swing brake release port before pulling the motor. Test main relief pressure at the pump; it should hold 320 kg/cm2 in normal mode, spec on page 65. If pressures check out, drain the swing reduction gearbox (3.3 liter capacity, page 403) and inspect the oil for metal flake.

Main hydraulic pump noisy and slow, all functions weak at operating temperature

Run the engine at rated speed, 2,150 plus or minus 50 rpm, before condemning the pump. Test Pi control pressure at the regulator; each half turn of the adjuster changes it 0.7 kg/cm2 (10 psi), procedure on page 253. Inspect regulator piping for leaks, then pull the reservoir intake strainer (177 micron, page 239) and check for debris.

Hydraulic oil overheats and every function turns sluggish after an hour of steady digging

Clean the cooling package with compressed air; a plugged oil cooler cooks the system fast. Replace the return line filter (10 micron rating, page 239) and check for a collapsed element. Verify reservoir oil level; the reservoir holds 150 liters and a low level pulls air into the circuit, which foams the oil and kills cooling.

Machine pulls to one side during travel, one track weak or moving in jerks

Check track tension on both sides first; a track run too tight drags that side and chews the undercarriage. Swap travel lines at the control valve to isolate the motor from the valve. Measure lower roller axle-to-bushing clearance against the wear table on page 172; 1.0 mm (0.039 in) is the recommended maintenance limit and 1.3 mm (0.051 in) is the limit for use.

Drain water and sediment from the fuel tank; it holds 280 liters (74 U.S. gal) and condensation builds fast when parked half empty, capacity listed on page 121. Replace both fuel filters and bleed air from the lines to the injection pump. Watch the air cleaner indicator on the instrument panel; it lights and blinks when the engine air cleaner is clogged, circuit detail on page 603.
