Every one of the 329 pages in this Daewoo Solar 220LC-III shop manual PDF works toward one goal: keeping your excavator digging instead of sitting dead-lined. You get full hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams for the 24-volt electrical system, and EPOS-III self-diagnostic codes for tracing Power Mode faults. Inside: complete teardown and reassembly procedures for the main pump, swing motor, control valve, and travel motor final drives, plus maintenance intervals from daily 10-hour checks out to 2,000 hours. Set the main relief at 300 bar (4,270 psi), or 320 bar with the Pressure Up valve engaged, and flag any arm cylinder that drifts more than 5 mm. A boom that creeps overnight is telling you something; this manual translates. Bookmarked with a full text layer, so you can search any spec right from your phone and get back on the sticks.

Daewoo Solar 220LC-III Common Problems This Manual Covers

Daewoo Solar 220LC-III hydraulics slow and weak, boom and arm respond sluggishly under load

Check hydraulic oil level and inspect the return filter for metal grit. Test main relief pressure at the pump: it should hold 300 bar (4,270 psi) per the spec on page 45. Verify pilot pressure reaches 40 kg/cm2 (569 psi); low pilot pressure makes every spool feel lazy. Start diagnosis with the baseline checks on page 286.

Manual Section: Testing, Troubleshooting and Adjusting p. 286
Boom drifts down and arm creeps with all controls in neutral, machine parked

Warm the oil, park on level ground, curl the bucket, and mark cylinder rod positions. Measure natural drop: the arm cylinder should fall no more than 5 mm (0.2 in), boom and bucket no more than 20 mm (0.79 in), per the test on page 53. Excessive drop means worn piston seals or a leaking spool; replace seals first.

Manual Section: Upper Structure p. 53
Travel pulls to one side and machine slips back when climbing slopes

Start at the travel relief: with high travel “Pressure Up” active it should reach 320 bar (4,550 psi), the spec printed on page 45. Then test travel motor drain rate — normal is under 2 liters (2 quarts) per minute, and a higher rate points to a worn or damaged motor. If drain rate is normal but motor inlet pressure sits at or below 70 bar (1,000 psi), suspect a sticking surge-cut or brake valve rather than the motor. When both tracks test the same, excessive internal leakage in the center joint is the remaining cause. The full fault tree is on page 302.

Manual Section: Travel is Slow, Stalled, Drifts Off to One Side or Slips Back Against a Slope p. 302
Main hydraulic pump whines and vibrates at operating temperature, louder under load

Drain a pump case oil sample and look for bronze flake. Tear it down and measure wear: piston-to-bore clearance over 0.067 mm means replace the rotating group; the new spec on page 101 is 0.039 mm. Check shoe thickness too; replace at 4.8 mm against 5.4 mm new. Bleed the suction line to rule out air before condemning the pump.

Manual Section: Upper Structure p. 101
Swing gearbox runs hot and weeps oil around the base after short work cycles

Drain and inspect the swing gearbox oil; the housing takes 6 L, capacity shown on page 137. Gritty or burnt oil means bearing wear, so pull the motor and inspect the bearings. Clean the plugged breather, replace the base seal, and refill to the level plug before returning the machine to work.

Manual Section: Swing Final Drive (Gearbox) Troubleshooting p. 301

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the hydraulic pressure test specifications for the Daewoo Solar 220LC-III?

The main relief pressure for normal operation is 300 bar (4,270 psi), and with high travel 'Pressure Up' it is 320 bar (4,550 psi). Pilot pump relief valve pressure is set at 40 kg/cm² (569 psi). p. 45

What are the metric tightening torque specifications for the Daewoo Solar 220LC-III?

The manual prints a general metric tightening torque chart by bolt diameter and grade. For a 16 mm standard-pitch bolt the torque is 206 N·m (151 ft-lb) at grade 8.8, 290 N·m (213 ft-lb) at grade 10.9 and 348 N·m (257 ft-lb) at grade 12.9. The full table runs from 5 mm to 18 mm and covers both standard and fine pitch. p. 269

What is the recommended maintenance interval for changing the engine oil and oil filters?

Engine oil and oil filters should be changed every 250 operating hours, or monthly, whichever comes first. p. 252

What is the valve adjustment clearance for the Daewoo D2366 engine?

The valve adjustment clearance for both intake and exhaust valves when cold is 0.3 mm (0.012 inches). p. 24

What is the engine oil capacity for the Daewoo D2366 engine?

Engine oil capacity is 19 liters (20 quarts). On the dipstick the working range is 17 liters minimum to 21 liters maximum, so top up within that band rather than to a single figure. p. 24

Is this Daewoo 220LC-III manual a PDF I download?

All 329 pages arrive as one searchable PDF at checkout. Read it at the desk, then take the phone out to the machine.

Is this Daewoo 220LC-III manual print-friendly?

Zero restrictions. The PDF is DRM-free. Print whatever sections you need to take out to the shop. Standard letter or A4 paper works.
