Fiat printed this operator manual as publication 603.64.025.00, the factory book for the 130-90 Turbo and 140-90 Turbo tractors, reproduced here as a complete 108 page PDF. The wiring diagram traces the electrical circuit from battery through fuses to alternator, and the servicing schedule sets intervals for fan belts, the turbocharger, engine valves, and fuel injectors. Your three-point hitch gets its own lift operation guide covering implement attachment and rated capacities, backed by specification chapters for the four-wheel drive, twenty-four speed, reverser, twin tyre, and cab versions. Set inlet valve clearance to 0.25 mm and exhaust to 0.35 mm, and check injector release pressure against the 221 to 230 bar figure before blaming the pump. A tractor parked over a missing spec loses field days you cannot buy back. Bookmarks and a live text layer put the servicing chart or wiring diagram one click from the cover.

Fiat 130-90 Turbo, 140-90 Turbo Common Problems This Manual Covers

Fiat 130-90 Turbo engine cranks slowly and won't fire on cold morning starts

Check electrolyte level with a cold battery and the engine off, and state of charge with a hydrometer: a charged normal-duty battery reads 1.28 (page 62). On thermostarter tractors, turn the starter switch to position 1 and hold button P for 10 to 15 seconds, then turn to position 2 holding P for a further 10 to 15 seconds; if the engine fails to start after two or three attempts and considerable smoke is noticed, try again with the thermostarter off (page 28).

Manual Section: Operation p. 28
Three-point hitch lifts slowly or drops the implement while driving to the field

Check the position or draught control setting for the implement in the lift guide table on page 37, then compare the implement with maximum lift capacity at the bushings: 3,750 kg or 8,269 lb without auxiliary cylinder and 5,200 kg or 11,466 lb with 1 auxiliary cylinder (page 38). Lift oil filters are on the maintenance schedule (page 56), and the hydraulic lift relief valve is set at 170 bar (page 70).

Manual Section: Guide to Lift Operation p. 38
Coolant temperature gauge climbs into the red during heavy tillage on warm afternoons

The thermostat keeps coolant out of the radiator until it warms up (85°C approx.); if a malfunction is suspected, remove and inspect it (page 65). The coolant is water and FIAT PARAFLU 11 anti-freeze, effective for two years or 1,600 hours, after which the system is drained, flushed and refilled (page 65). Check fan belt deflection: 10 to 15 mm applying a 118 N (12 kg) load (page 56).

Manual Section: Cooling System Maintenance p. 65
Battery charge warning light stays lit on the dash with engine running above idle

Check fan belt deflection first: 10 to 15 mm applying a 118 N (12 kg) load (page 56). Check electrolyte level with a cold battery and the engine off, and state of charge with a hydrometer, 1.28 when charged for normal duty (page 62). The alternator is rated 780 W at 2,500 engine rpm (page 72).

Manual Section: Electrical System p. 62
Engine lacks power under load and blows black smoke pulling up hills

The maintenance schedule on page 56 covers the dry air cleaner inner cartridge (filter change), the dry air cleaner outer cartridge and air precleaner (cleaning), the fuel filters and the turbocharger. If black smoke continues with a serviced air cleaner, have the fuel injectors checked: release pressure is 221 to 230 bar (225 to 235 kg/cm² or 3,204 to 3,335 psi) (page 56).

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset the warning light on the Fiatagri 130-90 Turbo?

The warning light is not reset by a button but by correcting the underlying fault. If the light fails to extinguish after starting, you must stop the engine, move the starter switch key to position 0, and trace the fault as indicated by the specific warning light and buzzer. p. 22

What is the valve clearance on the Fiat 130-90 Turbo and 140-90 Turbo engine?

The engine valve clearance for the 130-90 and 140-90 Turbo models is 0.25 mm (0.0098 in) for the inlet valves and 0.35 mm (0.0137 in) for the exhaust valves. p. 68

What is the torque for the front axle extension beam clamp bolts on the Fiat 130-90 Turbo and 140-90 Turbo?

The front axle extension beam clamp bolts (1 and 2) must be torqued to 22.5 kgm, which is equivalent to 220 N-m or 163 lb ft. p. 50

How often should the oil be changed on the Fiat 130-90 Turbo and 140-90 Turbo?

The manual states that a tractor oil change is required every 200 hours of operation, which is equivalent to a truck oil change every 8,000 to 9,000 km. p. 11

How do I bleed the brakes on the Fiat 130-90 Turbo and 140-90 Turbo?

To bleed the brakes, ensure the fluid level in the R.H. and L.H. reservoir sections is topped up. Depress the L.H. brake pedal slowly and fully to build pressure, then unscrew bleed plug C through half a turn to allow fluid to escape. Repeat this for the R.H. circuit until the fluid is free from air bubbles. p. 59

Is this Fiat 130-90 Turbo Operator Manual a digital download?

This is a 108-page searchable PDF ready for immediate download. Works on any device, so pull it up on your phone while you're under the hood. No shipping, no waiting.
