What's inside: three FiatAllis books bound into one 1,221-page file for the FX350, FX350LC crawler excavator - the volumes dealers sold separately. Pages 1-200 are the Operation and Maintenance manual (introduction, operation, inspection and servicing, repair work and the annex). Pages 201-497 are the illustrated Parts Manual: undercarriage, hydraulic and fuel tanks, swings, counter balance, engine, travel and slewing gear, swing brake, hydraulic system, heater, greasing system, electrical system and sheet metal. Pages 498-1221 are the Service Manual - the FiatAllis Technical Handbook - running its numbered sections from How To Use and Specifications through General, Superstructure, Diesel Boxes, Undercarriage, Front-End Attachments, Hydraulic System, Electrical System and Equipment to the EDS operating instructions, fittings, pipes and hoses, welding for maintenance and repair, and the sealing, protective, checking and cleaning agents. On diagrams, precisely: the Technical Handbook explains circuits and refers to them by component number, and it carries sectional views of the hydraulic components and the electrical procedures - including emergency operation of the proportional valve when the electronic regulator fails - but it does not print drawn wiring or hydraulic schematic sheets.

FiatAllis FX350, FX350LC Common Problems This Manual Covers
Track sag, thrown tracks or worn rollers on the undercarriage
Section 4 of the Service Manual covers the undercarriage in full - track tension adjustment, roller and idler service and recoil components. The Parts Manual undercarriage section gives every part number, and Part 3 of the Operation and Maintenance book sets the inspection intervals that keep it from getting this far.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 4 - Undercarriage p. 201No crank or intermittent electrical faults from aged wiring and grounds
Start with the circuit diagram component table: it lists the starter cabling, battery main switch, earth cables and every connector with its current path and location on the machine, so you chase the actual circuit instead of wiggling wires. Section 9 of the Service Manual covers electrical system testing and repair.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 9 - Electrical SystemHydraulic leaks at hoses, fittings and the swivel connection
Section 12 of the Service Manual covers fittings, pipes and hoses, including correct assembly so the fix holds. The Parts Manual identifies the swivel connection and tank components by number, and Section 8 gives the hydraulic system layout so you know what the leaking line actually feeds.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 12 - Fittings, Pipes and Hoses p. 733Sloppy pins, cracked welds and worn bushings in the boom, stick and bucket
Section 10 of the Service Manual covers the equipment and front-end attachments, with pin and bushing replacement. For cracked structures, Section 13 gives the factory welding procedure for maintenance and repair, and the Parts Manual implements section supplies the pin, bushing and shim part numbers.
Manual Section: Service Manual Section 10 - Equipment p. 996Frequently Asked Questions
Does this set include the wiring diagram, or just a parts list for the electrical system?
Both. Section 9 of the Service Manual covers the electrical system, and the set includes the FX350 circuit diagram documentation with a full component table - every harness, battery cable, earth cable, distributor, connector and the cold-start solenoid valve, each with its quantity, part number, current path reference into the circuit diagram and its physical location on the machine (cab, superstructure, battery box, engine compartment, joystick, control panel). You can trace a dead circuit from the diagram straight to the component and order it from the same page. p. 396
Can I actually order parts from this, or do I still need the dealer?
The Parts Manual is the same illustrated book the dealer parts counter used. Exploded views with FiatAllis part numbers for the undercarriage, superstructure, track and accessories, fuel and hydraulic tanks, swivel connection, counterweight, implements, sheet metal, decals and tools. FiatAllis is long gone as a brand, but those part numbers cross-reference to Fiat-Hitachi and current aftermarket suppliers, which is exactly why you want the original numbers in hand.
I have slow, weak hydraulics. Will this manual help me find the cause?
Yes. Section 8 of the Service Manual is dedicated to the hydraulic system, and Section 2 (Service Data) gives you the pressures and settings to test against. Between those two you can check pump output and relief valve settings before you condemn anything expensive. Section 12 covers fittings, pipes and hoses when the problem turns out to be a leak rather than the pump. p. 733
Is the diesel engine covered, or do I need a separate engine manual?
The engine has its own numbered section - Section 6, Diesel Engine - in the Service Manual, alongside the service data and special tools sections that support it. For routine work like filters, fluids and adjustments, Part 3 of the Operation and Maintenance manual (Inspection and Servicing) covers the intervals and procedures the operator was expected to do.
My machine has cracks in the boom and stick. Is there any factory guidance on repair welding?
This is one of the few manual sets that actually covers it. Section 13, Welding for Maintenance and Repair, is the factory procedure for structural repair welding, and Section 14 lists the approved sealing, protective, checking and cleaning agents. Section 10 (Equipment) covers the front-end attachments themselves. That beats guessing at rod and preheat on a 35-ton machine. p. 996
