Flexi-coil stamped this factory service manual with its own document number, SQ-093.01, and filled 279 pages covering six designations of its trailed field sprayer line. As a Flexi-coil 55, 65, 744A, SP655 service manual PDF, it gives you hydraulic schematics for the wing boom circuits and wiring diagrams for both the 744A control system and the SP655 monitor. Electronics takes a big share of the book (monitor programming, flow sensor calibration, boom section widths), and troubleshooting charts open most chapters, from the Hypro pump to the PTO gearbox. Run castor tires at 10 PSI, and bring 65 XL wheel bolts to 115 lbf-ft (155 N-m) on 16.5L-16.1 tires or 160 lbf-ft (215 N-m) on 18.4-26 AWT. A guessed pump seal costs you a second teardown. Print the pages you need before the spray window closes and let them get chemical-stained on the bench.

Flexi-coil S65, S65XL, S65XLT, S55 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Flexi-coil 65 sprayer draw tube latch not engaging positively and wing boom unlatching in field
Inspect the draw tube latch joint and the disc collar first, then work through the unlatching and draw tube checks in the Mechanical Problems chart starting. If the joint is loose, shorten the disc collar from 3 in to 2 1/2 in as shown on page 108 so the latch engages more positively.
Manual Section: Mechanical ProblemsDuring field spraying with booms unfolded, the boom castor wheel is not operating properly
Check the castor tire air pressure and set it to 10 PSI as listed on page 112. Then work through the castor wheel operation entries in the Mechanical Problems chart on pages 64 to 66, and correct each cause it flags before you unfold the booms and head back into the field.
Manual Section: Mechanical Problems p. 112Boom section solenoid valve not opening or closing when switched from the control box
Test the solenoid valve following the Control Box, Regulator Valve and Solenoid Valves checks on page 124. On 65, 65 XL and 65 XLT sprayers with the 145H valve, measure the valve stroke against 11/64 in (4.46 mm). If the stroke is off, correct it before running that boom section again.
Manual Section: Control Box, Regulator Valve and Solenoid Valves p. 124While driving the field, SP655 monitor ground speed display reads unstable or drops to zero
Check the speed sensor mounting distance and set it to 1/4 inch per page 220. The booms shut off automatically below 1 MPH (1.6 km/h) per page 223, so a false low speed reading can stop the spray. Then redo the distance and ground speed calibration in the Electronics section.
Manual Section: SP 655 Monitor p. 220Hydraulically driven centrifugal pump motor running erratically and hydraulic oil building up heat
Check the tractor remote hydraulics setup against the Tractor Operations guidance in Hydraulic Pump Service, which starts on page 151. Then work through Pressure Adjustments for Hydraulic Pump Systems and the erratic motor operation and heat build-up entries in the troubleshooting chart before you tear into the pump itself.
Manual Section: Hydraulically Driven Centrifugal Pumps p. 151Across the boom, nozzles dripping, strainers clogging, or spray patterns coming out distorted
Clean the strainers and nozzles following the Nozzle Cleaning procedure in Plumbing & Related Component Service. Then check flow rate and pattern uniformity on each nozzle using the General Information section, and work through the Nozzle Troubleshooting chart on page 125 for any nozzle that still drips or throws a distorted pattern.
Manual Section: Nozzle Troubleshooting p. 125Frequently Asked Questions
What are the torque specifications for a 1/2 inch Grade 5 bolt on a Flexi-Coil sprayer?
For a 1/2 inch Grade 5 bolt, the torque specification is 85 N-m (63 lb-ft) for lubricated threads and 110 N-m (80 lb-ft) for dry threads. p. 14
How do I reset the SP 655 monitor if it indicates an error?
If the monitor displays an 'Error' message for a few seconds and then shuts off, try powering it up again. If the message persists, it indicates a memory malfunction and the monitor must be returned for repair. p. 229
What is the procedure for bleeding air from the hydraulic system on a Flexi-Coil sprayer?
To bleed air from the hydraulic system, fully retract the cylinders and hold for 5 seconds, then fully extend the cylinders and hold for 20 seconds. Repeat this procedure at least 15 to 20 times. p. 17
What is the recommended tire pressure for 12.5L-15 tires on a Model 65 sprayer when spraying water?
The recommended tire pressure for 12.5L-15 tires on a Model 65 sprayer when spraying water is 28 psi (193 kPa). p. 67
How do I adjust the belt tension for the 1000 RPM PTO pump drive?
Adjust the eye-bolt connected to the pump mount base to change the PTO belt tension. The tension should be set so that approximately 3 to 4 lbs (1.35 to 1.80 kg) of force is required to deflect each belt 1/4 inch (6 mm) midway between the sheaves. p. 171
Is this Flexi-coil 55 manual a download or a disc?
You get a 279-page searchable PDF that downloads instantly after checkout. Open it on your laptop, tablet, or phone, and bring it right to the shop floor.
Am I able to print pages from this Flexi-coil 55 manual?
