Printed by Kobelco as document YCUK93S001OM-00, this 140-page Kobelco SK300 III, SK300LC III operator manual PDF is the factory book for both versions of this hydraulic excavator. Hydraulic and electric circuit diagrams sit in the reference chapter with working ranges, attachment combinations and component weights, so your pilot circuit and harness layout are on paper when a fault shows up. Maintenance takes the largest share of the book: pre-work checks, the service interval schedule and a lubrication and filter chart, followed by a troubleshooting table, transport preparation and hydraulic breaker precautions. Blow out the air cleaner element at under 100 psi (7 kg/cm²), and torque the hydraulic tank return filter cover to 80 ± 11 ft·lbs. Filter day should not stall on one missing number. Chapter bookmarks and a live text layer find it in seconds, and your excavator is swinging a full bucket again before lunch.

Kobelco SK300 III, SK300LC III Common Problems This Manual Covers

Kobelco SK300 III hydraulic oil temperature rising too high during normal digging work

Check hydraulic oil level with the machine level, arm and bucket fully extended and the bucket resting on the ground, then fill KW46 to half the level gauge as page 20 directs. Clean a clogged oil cooler core wearing safety goggles, nozzle at least 500mm from the fins (page 90). Verify fan belt deflection of 10 to 15mm per page 89, and replace wrong-type oil with correct new oil.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 128
All operating speeds slow and hydraulic power lost on every function at once

Check the hydraulic oil level gauge first and fill to the specified level with the arm and bucket extended and the bucket resting on the ground, as page 20 shows. Inspect the suction pipe hose clamp for air leaks; retighten it or replace the hose. If level and suction are good, the page 126 chart points to the hydraulic pump, pilot gear pump, or main and pilot relief valve adjustment: repair or replace.

Manual Section: General Troubleshooting p. 126
Cylinder drifts down and will not hold position with the operating lever in neutral

Put the safety lock lever in the LOCKED position whenever the machine is at rest or being serviced, as page 38 requires. Reduce the load first, since an overload valve that is not operating lets the cylinder creep. If it still drifts at normal loads, the page 126 chart lists a scored cylinder seal, a damaged control or overload valve, or a damaged pilot valve: repair or replace.

Manual Section: General Troubleshooting p. 126
Machine pulls to one side and will not travel in a straight line

Check track tension on both sides and adjust until they match; unequal tension is the first cause the page 128 chart lists. Clean packed track links and shoes, and back off tension if it is too tight, since both make travel rough (page 127). If tension is even and it still pulls, unbalanced main relief settings, a worn travel motor, or unbalanced pump regulators need repair or replacement.

Manual Section: Travel Troubleshooting p. 128
Buzzer sounding with WATER TEMP display and temperature gauge climbing into the red zone

Stop working; page 42 says never operate with the temperature gauge in the red zone. Let the radiator cool before touching the cap, because hot coolant is under pressure (page 89). Check the reserve tank level sits between F and Low and refill, fasten a loose cap, look for coolant leaks, clean a clogged radiator core, and verify belt deflection at 10 to 15mm. Replace a faulty thermostat.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 128
Starter turns over normally but the engine will not fire or start up

Check the fuel level and refuel with the engine stopped, as page 85 requires. Bleed air from the fuel line, replace a clogged fuel filter element, and clean or replace the air cleaner element. Check the pre-heat circuit for a blown fuse or damaged heater relay, and confirm the starting procedure on page 50 was followed before cranking again.

Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 130
