Wrenching on a Kobelco SK30SR-2 or SK35SR-2? This 651-page Kobelco Shop Manual (OEM #S5PW0002E) covers both hydraulic excavator models front to back, and it downloads as a PDF the minute you pay. Inside: full electric circuit diagrams with harness and cable lists, hydraulic circuit schematics with complete piping layouts, and dedicated troubleshooting sections for the hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems. You also get teardown and assembly procedures for the hydraulic pump, control valve, slewing motor, travel motors, and swivel joint, plus maintenance standards for checking engine speed, oil pressure, and crawler tension. Set the main relief valve to 230 kgf/cm2 (3270 psi), then torque the M12 travel motor socket bolts to 10.4 kgf-m (75 lbf-ft). A dead excavator earns nothing. Bookmarked by system, so you can jump straight to the right section on any device in the shop.

Kobelco SK30SR-2, SK35SR-2 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Kobelco SK30SR-2 SK35SR-2 hydraulic functions weak and slow, boom struggles to lift a loaded bucket

Check hydraulic oil level first, then tee a gauge into the P1 port and verify main relief pressure reaches 230 kgf/cm2 (3270 psi) using the test procedure on page 86. If pressure checks good but functions stay slow, work the attachment and pump troubleshooting charts on page 531 to isolate clogged filters, suction leaks, or pump wear.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting Hydraulic System p. 531
Controller flashes B-1 or B-2 fault codes, boom response erratic or dead in one direction

Inspect the boom pressure sensor connectors for corrosion, chafed wires, and loose pins, tracing the circuit on the wiring diagram. Test the sensor and harness for continuity before replacing parts. When installing a new pressure switch, torque it to 2.2 kgf·m (16 lbf·ft) per page 157, then cycle the boom and confirm the code clears.

Manual Section: Electrical System
Hydraulic oil foaming in the tank after filter or hose service, cylinders judder and creep

Fill the tank to the correct mark, start the engine, and cycle boom, arm, bucket, slew, and both travel circuits slowly through full stroke to purge trapped air. Tighten any weeping suction fittings at the pump inlet. Once the foam clears, confirm the system still builds 230 kgf/cm2 (3270 psi) at relief per the procedure on page 86.

Manual Section: Maintenance Standards and Test Procedures p. 86
Machine pulls to one side, left or right track slow or dead on level ground

Swap the travel lines at the swivel joint; if the fault follows the hose, look upstream at the control valve instead of the motor. Drain the reduction gear case, which holds 750cc (46 cu·in), and check the oil for metal. Retorque the M12 travel motor mounting socket bolts to 10.4 kgf·m (75 lbf·ft) per page 482.

Manual Section: Travel System p. 456
Engine cranks slowly in cold weather or will not start at all after sitting overnight

Test battery voltage under load and clean the ground strap connections before condemning the starter, following the engine troubleshooting charts starting on page 551. Verify oil level; the sump takes 3.9 liters maximum, and overfilled or heavy oil drags cranking speed in the cold. If hard starting continues, set valve clearance to 0.2 mm (0.008 in) cold.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting Engine p. 551
