Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
This is the factory repair manual, CNH publication 84126849, for the New Holland Boomer 3040 CVT, Boomer 3045 CVT and Boomer 3050 CVT compact tractors. The heart of the book is the CVT transmission section - the continuously variable drive unit with its hydrostatic and mechanical power paths, control valves, servo and the calibration procedures you cannot guess your way through. Around that sit full teardown coverage of the engine, front drive axle, differential, rear and mid PTO, brakes, steering, hydraulics, cab climate control and the electrical system with circuit by circuit wiring. Specification tables carry separate columns for each model, which matters because the 3040 and 3045 are rated at 2600 rpm while the 3050 runs 2800, and the pressures, flows and power figures follow that split.

New Holland Boomer 3040 CVT, Boomer 3045 CVT, Boomer 3050 CVT Common Problems This Manual Covers
Three point hitch lifts slowly or will not carry a rated load, loader feels weak.
Start in the Hydraulic System section with the pressure testing procedures. Check the relief valve against the 171.6 bar (2489 psi) setting and verify pump flow, 36.9 L/min at 2600 rpm on the 3040 and 3045 or 39.8 L/min at 2800 rpm on the 3050, before condemning the pump. The lift circuit should carry 1606 kg at the ball ends.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System p. 1098Tractor hesitates, hunts or creeps after transmission control valve or servo work.
The CVT Transmission section covers the calibration and adjustment procedures for the continuously variable drive unit. Any work on the control valves or servo requires recalibration, and the section steps through the hydrostatic and mechanical paths so you can isolate whether the fault is in the drive unit itself or its controls.
Manual Section: CVT Transmission p. 481Rear or mid PTO will not engage, slips under load or runs off speed.
The Power Take-Off Systems section covers the clutch pack and engagement mechanism for both the rear and mid PTO drives, along with shaft and guard service and the speed check procedures. Rated output is documented per model, 23 kW on the 3040, 25.8 kW on the 3045 and 28.7 kW on the 3050, so you can verify against spec.
Manual Section: Power Take-Off Systems p. 217Front axle growls in four wheel drive or the front wheels show play at the kingpins.
The Front Wheel Drive Front Axle section takes the axle apart properly: axle housing and drive shafts, king pins and steering knuckles, hub reduction gears and the bearing settings. The bearing preload figures are the part you cannot improvise, because guessing them is what kills a rebuilt hub early.
Manual Section: Front Wheel Drive Front Axle p. 735Frequently Asked Questions
Does this manual actually cover the CVT transmission, or just gearbox basics?
It covers the CVT properly. The transmission section walks through the continuously variable drive unit, the hydrostatic and mechanical paths, control valves and servo, plus the calibration and adjustment procedures. That calibration coverage is the reason to own the book, because after any control valve or servo work the drive will not behave until it is set up per the procedure. p. 1098
Are hydraulic test pressures and flows in here, and are they split by model?
Yes. The hydraulic section gives the relief valve setting at 171.6 bar (2489 psi), main pump flow of 36.9 L/min at 2600 rpm for the 3040 and 3045 and 39.8 L/min at 2800 rpm for the 3050, steering circuit pressure of 75 bar, loader circuit at 172.4 bar and auxiliary circuit at 250 bar, with pressure testing procedures to check them. p. 217
Is this one manual for all three tractors, or do I need separate books?
One manual covers the Boomer 3040 CVT, 3045 CVT and 3050 CVT. The specification tables give a separate column for each model, so figures like injection pump timing (21 degrees BTDC on the 3040, 19.5 degrees on the 3045 and 3050) and PTO power are listed per machine, not averaged. p. 67
Does it help with electrical problems like the instrument cluster or dead circuits?
The electrical section is organized by circuit, with wiring for starting, charging, lighting and accessories, plus removal, testing and installation procedures for the starter, alternator, instrument cluster and switches. You trace faults with a meter and the wiring diagrams rather than plugging in a code reader. p. 1085
What format is the file, and can I search it by keyword?
It is a PDF scan of the printed factory book, so the pages are images and keyword search will not find text. You navigate by the collated contents, which lays out every section and chapter, and it prints cleanly if you want a paper copy for the bench. p. 65
