New Holland LS170, SL55, LS160 Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland LS170 cylinder head gasket comes in two thicknesses, not sure which one fits my serial number
Check the cylinder head exploded view on pages 16-17 and pull your serial number off the frame plate first. Machines before S/N 108981 take the 1.3mm head gasket; S/N 108982 and later take the 1.2mm gasket, both listed on page 17. Order by serial range, not by what came off the engine.

Verify your model before ordering anything. Check pages 262-263: the LS160 high flow gear pump appears in Fig. 07.03.02 and the LS170 pump in Fig. 07.03.01, and they carry separate part numbers. Match the 37 degree tee fittings with 9/16"-18 threads from the same parts list so the plumbing goes back together clean.

Inspect the hydraulic parts diagram on page 82; the hydrostatic pump and motor hoses, elbows, connectors, and O-rings are itemized there through page 85. Measure what you pulled before guessing at part numbers. Check the tandem gear pump plumbing list on page 181; it calls out the 8-1 O-ring at 90 durometer.644 inch ID by .087 inch thick, plus the adjustable run tee. Order fresh O-rings with the pump instead of reusing hardened ones.
