This is the factory workshop service manual for the New Holland T7.170, T7.185, T7.200 and T7.210 tractors. It is organised the way CNH builds the tractor rather than the way a parts book lists it: the hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems come first and take roughly half the book, then the engine and PTO input, the transmission and driveline, the axles, brakes and steering, the frame and cab, and finally the hitch. The hydraulic chapters give the real pump numbers and the standby and system pressures, and the electrical chapters carry the schematic frames and connector diagrams rather than a single overview drawing.

New Holland T7.170, T7.185, T7.200, T7.210 Common Problems This Manual Covers

The remotes are slow, the hitch will not lift, or the hydraulics fade once the oil is warm.

Measure before you condemn the pump. Bring the system up to temperature and check low standby, which should read 26 bar, then high standby at 210 bar and maximum system pressure at 245 bar. A pump that reaches standby but not maximum points at the compensator rather than the pistons. Check charge pressure too, since it should sit between 2 and 4 bar and the switch closes at 1 bar. The primary hydraulic chapters carry the test points, the adjustment procedure and the full pump overhaul.

Manual Section: Primary Hydraulic Power System
A warning lamp, a stored fault code, or an ISOBUS implement that will not talk to the tractor.

Pull the code first and work the electronic system chapters, which cover the control modules, the CAN bus and the ISOBUS interface controller (TECU) with their fault-code tables and calibration routines. Once the code points at a circuit, switch to the electrical power system and find the numbered schematic frame and the connector component diagram for that circuit. Test the harness at the connector the diagram names rather than replacing a module on suspicion.

Manual Section: Electronic System
Trailer brakes are weak, or the air system will not build and hold pressure.

Work the pneumatic chapter, which covers the compressor, the reservoir, the pressure regulation valves and the trailer air-brake supply. Note that a tractor built with the Italian trailer brake package runs a higher low standby pressure, 36 bar instead of 26 bar, so the hydraulic side reads differently before you assume the air side is at fault. Check the hydraulic standby first and confirm which package the tractor carries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which tractors does this manual cover?

The T7.170, T7.185, T7.200 and T7.210. They share the chassis, the closed-centre load-sensing hydraulic system, the electrical and electronic architecture and the driveline, so almost every procedure in the book applies across the four. Where a build option changes something, such as the Italian trailer brake package or the high-flow hydraulic pump, the manual gives the separate figure.

What hydraulic pressures should I be seeing?

Low standby pressure is 26 bar (377 psi) plus or minus 1 bar, or 36 bar on tractors fitted with Italian trailer brakes. High standby is 210 bar (3045 psi) plus or minus 5 bar and maximum system pressure is 245 bar (3552.5 psi) plus or minus 5 bar. Charge pressure runs 2 to 4 bar and the charge pressure switch closes at 1 bar. The cooler by-pass valve opens at 5.8 bar.

How much flow does the pump make?

The main pump is a variable displacement, closed centre, load-sensing piston pump. At 2200 rpm engine speed the standard pump delivers 125 l/min (33.0 US gpm) from a 56 cm3/rev displacement, and the high-flow pump delivers 140 l/min (37.0 US gpm) from 63 cm3/rev. Pump speed at that engine speed is 2750 rpm.

Does it include the wiring schematics and the electronics?

Yes. The electrical power system runs from page 224 to page 969 as numbered schematic frames with harness and connector component diagrams, so you follow a frame rather than hunt across one giant drawing. The electronic system then runs from page 970 to page 1683 and covers the control modules, the CAN bus, the ISOBUS interface controller, the fault-code tables and the calibration routines.

How big is the manual and can I search it?

It is 3129 pages in English, a searchable and printable PDF. Search the text, print the pages you need for the bench, and keep the rest on a laptop in the workshop.
