Part of the New Holland Operator Manuals.
Safety, operation, lubrication, engine and fuel, cooling, electrical, tires and steering, storage and specifications: this 124-page New Holland TC29DA, TC33DA operator manual PDF (OEM 87308863) walks each system on these compact tractors end to end. Wiring is where it earns its keep, with electrical schematic diagrams plus relay and fuse tables that trace the circuits behind the instrument panel, lighting and starting. Lubrication charts set out maintenance intervals, grease points and Super Steer front axle care, and the operation chapters explain the ROPS, dashboard indicators and brake controls. Fill the TC29DA gear rear axle and transmission (hydraulics included) with 32.5 liters, or 33.3 liters on the HST version, and hold injector line fittings to 24 to 29 N·m. Your copy is bookmarked and text-searchable, bought once and kept for the life of this tractor.

New Holland TC29DA, TC33DA Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland TC29DA or TC33DA starter motor cranks but engine will not start or fire
Verify the rear PTO and mid PTO are OFF, the range lever is in NEUTRAL, and you are in the seat or the parking brake is set, per page 28. If any of those is wrong, the fuel solenoid never energizes. Check fuse 5 (10 amp, fuel shutoff solenoid) on page 80. Always start from the operator's seat, never bypass the neutral start switches (page 10), and never crank longer than 30 seconds.
Manual Section: Starting the Engine p. 28Engine will not start after running out of fuel or changing the fuel filter
Make sure the tank has fuel and open the fuel shutoff valve. Then open the bleed screw at the injection pump and close it once air-free fuel flows, per page 66. Push the hand throttle to high speed and turn the engine over a few seconds to purge the high pressure tubes. That fuel is under high pressure, so check for leaks with cardboard, never your hand (page 66).
Manual Section: Bleeding the Fuel System p. 66Diesel engine running too hot during field work with chaff on the radiator
Check coolant with the engine cold, following page 73. Cover the radiator cap with a thick cloth, turn it slowly to the first stop, and let all pressure escape before removing it. Top up with 50/50 antifreeze if the level sits more than 4 cm below the filler neck, and clear chaff from the fins. Check fan belt deflection of 10 mm to 15 mm (page 75). Adjust it only with the engine stopped (page 76).
Manual Section: Cooling System Maintenance p. 73Three-point hitch relief valve blows when lift arms reach full raise height
Adjust the position control rod following page 46. Loosen the locknut, pull the pin, set the control lever to its highest position, and start the engine. Move the lever down until the relief valve quits, align the clevis pin holes, then lengthen the rod one more turn, pin it, and tighten the locknut. Clear people from the area before lowering (page 45). Confirm the relief valve stays quiet at full raise.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Adjustments p. 46Three-point hitch lower links raise to full height but will not lower
Turn the drop rate control valve OUT (counterclockwise) following page 47. When it is screwed fully IN, the links raise but cannot lower. Back it out until the drop speed suits the implement; clockwise slows the drop. Make sure the area is clear of people before lowering equipment (page 45), and never leave the implement in the raised position (page 10).
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Adjustments p. 47Front end loader remote valve gets no hydraulic flow from the manifold block
Check the diverter valve on the manifold block, on the right side below the engine oil dipstick, per page 47. With a remote valve plumbed to the pressure out, pressure return and sump ports, turn the diverter counterclockwise to the 11 o'clock position with a blade screwdriver. At 1 o'clock, oil goes only to the H.P.L. valve and rear remotes. Set it correctly and the loader is back in the field.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Adjustments p. 47Frequently Asked Questions
What are the torque specifications for the front wheel bolts on the New Holland TC29DA and TC33DA?
The front wheel bolts for both the 2WD and FWD axles must be torqued to 122 N⋅m (90 ft. lbs.). p. 86
What is the correct procedure for checking the engine oil level?
Check the engine oil level daily or after every 10 hours of operation. With the engine stopped and the tractor on level ground, use the dipstick to ensure the oil level is between the two marks; do not overfill. p. 63
What is the recommended engine oil and filter change interval for the New Holland TC29DA, TC33DA?
Change the engine oil and filter after the first 50 hours of operation, then every 100 hours thereafter. If the tractor is operated under continuous, severe conditions, change the oil and filter at 70-hour intervals. p. 63
What is the correct valve clearance for the engine on the New Holland TC29DA, TC33DA tractor?
The valve clearance for both the intake and exhaust valves is 0.20 mm (0.008 inches) when cold. p. 109
What is the correct fan belt tension for the engine?
A correctly tightened fan belt should deflect 10 mm to 15 mm (7/16 to 9/16 inches) when 9 to 11 kg (20 to 25 lbs.) of thumb pressure is applied midway between the pulleys. p. 75
