Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
This is the factory repair manual for the New Holland TL-A series, the TL80A, TL90A and TL100A tractors. It is the dealer document, split the way New Holland numbered the tractor: engine, clutch, transmissions, front-wheel drive, axles, PTO, brakes, hydraulics, steering, auxiliary units, electrical and cab. All three share the IVECO NEF four-cylinder 4.5 litre diesel, so the engine work is common and the manual calls out where the naturally aspirated TL80A differs from the turbocharged TL90A and TL100A. The electrical section runs from page 775 to page 1536 and covers the circuits, the fault codes, the HH Menu calibrations and the CAN bus network, which is where most TL-A diagnostics start.

New Holland TL80A, TL90A, TL100A Common Problems This Manual Covers
A warning lamp or a dead function that looks electrical, on a tractor with CAN bus.
Start in the electrical section rather than at the harness. Read the fault code, look it up in the fault-code chapter, then use the HH Menu chapter to check whether the function simply needs calibrating before you suspect a component. Only then move to the circuit drawings and component test procedures for that circuit. The CAN bus chapter covers the network itself, so a fault that appears in several unrelated functions can be traced to the bus instead of to each component in turn.
Manual Section: SECTION 55 - ELECTRICAL SYSTEMSThe three-point lift is slow, will not hold, or a remote valve leaks down.
Test the circuit before you strip it. The hydraulic section describes the system and gives the pressure test procedure first, so you can separate a tired pump from a lift or a valve that has drifted out of adjustment. It then splits by fitment: the mechanically operated hydraulic power lift has its own chapter, and the KONTAK, the BOSCH and the Kontak mid-mount auxiliary control valves each get their own removal, overhaul and setting procedures. Identify which valve family your tractor carries before you order seals.
Manual Section: SECTION 35 - HYDRAULIC SYSTEMSThe engine is down on power, smokes, or will not hold its rated speed.
Work the numbers before the parts. Valve clearances on a cold engine are 0.30 mm inlet and 0.55 mm exhaust, low idle is 750 rpm and high idle 2700 rpm, and rated speed is 2500 rev/min. A turbocharged TL90A or TL100A that is short on boost is a different fault from a naturally aspirated TL80A that is short on compression, and the engine section covers the turbocharger, the fuel system and the full overhaul with the clearances and torques for each.
Manual Section: SECTION 10 - ENGINEFrequently Asked Questions
Which tractors does this manual cover?
The TL-A series: TL80A, TL90A and TL100A. All three run the same IVECO NEF F4CE 4.5 litre four-cylinder diesel and the same chassis, so the transmission, axle, hydraulic and cab work is shared. The engine differs by aspiration and rating: the TL80A is naturally aspirated at 80 HP, while the TL90A and TL100A are turbocharged at 90 HP and 98 HP.
Does it include the full wiring diagrams and fault codes?
Yes. The electrical section runs from page 775 to page 1536, the largest part of the book. It covers the instrument cluster, starting and charging systems, the complete electrical circuits and wiring schematics, component test procedures, the fault-code tables, the HH Menu calibration routines and the CAN bus network.
What power and torque does each model make?
Gross power at the rated 2500 rev/min is 80 HP (60 kW) on the TL80A, 90 HP (67 kW) on the TL90A and 98 HP (74 kW) on the TL100A. Maximum torque at 1400 rev/min is 320 Nm, 350 Nm and 370 Nm respectively. All three share a 17.5:1 compression ratio and a 104 mm bore with a 132 mm stroke.
Which transmissions and control valves are covered?
Both transmissions get their own chapters: the 12x12 Synchro Command mechanical shuttle and the 24x24 Dual Command power shuttle, along with the reverser. On the hydraulic side the manual covers the mechanically operated hydraulic power lift and three families of auxiliary control valve, KONTAK, BOSCH and the Kontak mid-mount valves, so you can work whichever set is fitted to your tractor.
How big is the manual and can I search it?
It is 1582 pages in English, a searchable and printable PDF. Search the text, print the pages you need for the bench, and keep the rest on a laptop in the workshop.
How quickly can I access this New Holland TL80A, TL90A, TL100A manual after?
Instant PDF download (105 MB). You get the full 1582-page searchable Repair Manual immediately after payment. Open it on your laptop, tablet, or phone right in the shop.
Am I able to print pages from this New Holland TL80A, TL90A, TL100A manual?
