Owners of New Holland TN60A, TN70A and TN75A tractors can count on this 178-page operator manual PDF (OEM 87352934) to fit their machine, with the 8F+8R, 12F+12R and 16F+16R transmissions covered. Field operation takes the largest share of the book: PTO engagement, both differential locks, mechanical and electrohydraulic FWD, three-point linkage, rear remotes, and ballast and tire tables with inflation pressures and maximum weights. Service intervals run from 10-hour checks to 1200-hour jobs, while troubleshooting charts trace engine, electrical, hydraulic lift and brake faults to a cause and fix. Set fan belt deflection to 10 to 11 mm under a 78 to 98 N load, and put your clutch pedal at 140 ± 2 mm from the board. A lift that won't hold an implement eats a dry afternoon fast. Bookmarked and searchable on screen, it prints cleanly too, so the service pages can take the oil on the bench while you get the tractor back in the field.

New Holland TN60A, TN70A, TN75A Common Problems This Manual Covers

New Holland TN60A, TN70A, TN75A engine will not start or starts with difficulty after running the tank dry

Check the fuel level first, then bleed the fuel system to clear trapped air and replace a clogged fuel filter element following page 146. When cranking, keep each attempt under 15 seconds (up to 30 seconds only if the engine fires but does not start), wait at least one minute between tries and stop after six attempts so you don't flatten the battery (page 62). If it still won't start, a fuel injector fault is one possible cause; contact your dealer.

Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 146
Engine overheating and temperature gauge running hot while pulling a heavy implement

Clean the radiator core, but never spray cold water on a hot engine (page 11). Top up coolant at the expansion tank and check for leaks following page 147. The radiator decal on page 26 warns that the cooling system is pressurized. Keep your hands clear of the fan and belts, then check fan belt deflection against 10 to 11 mm under 78 to 98 N (page 113). Replace a worn belt.

Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 147
Battery charge warning light stays on after the engine starts and batteries not charging

Check the belt tensioning device and tighten a loose or worn belt, keeping your hands away from the rotating fan and belts (page 26). Clean and tighten any loose or corroded terminals, then make sure battery charge is at least 12.6 volts and check electrolyte level and specific gravity following page 149. If the light stays on or flashes, have your dealer check the alternator.

Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 149
Hydraulic system not working properly and hydraulic fluid overheating during long field days

Check the hydraulic oil level. Fluid that is too high or too low can cause overheating, so correct it following page 150. Replace a clogged filter as shown on page 121: unscrew the container, fit a new element, oil the seals, screw it on by hand 3/4 of a turn and top up with new oil. Set the flow regulation to a lower capacity. Do not alter the relief valve calibration (page 17). If the fault persists, contact your dealer.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 150
Remote control does not work: implement cylinder will not operate or hoses will not couple properly

Check that the implement hoses are connected correctly, then work the control levers to confirm oil flow in the half couplers following page 150. If the problem persists, replace the male couplers. Wrong couplers should be swapped for standard ISO 1/2 inch connectors from your dealer. Reduce the load or fit a suitable cylinder. Leaks of pressurized oil can cause serious injury (page 21).

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 150
Three-point hitch does not move when the lift control lever is actuated or lifts slowly in draft control

Check that the linkage cylinder tubes are connected correctly, and reduce the load if the linkage is overloaded, following page 151. If it lifts slowly in draft control, adjust the combined draft/position control and the implement settings. If it runs too fast or lowers too slowly, have the control valve checked. Never leave a connected implement raised with the tractor stationary (page 20).

Frequently Asked Questions

What do the error codes or warning lights mean on a New Holland TN60A, TN70A, or TN75A?

The power shuttle transmission fault code indicator identifies error codes in six phases, starting with 5 rapid flashes followed by a 2-second pause, then flashes for the first digit, a 1-second pause, flashes for the second digit, and a 3-second pause. For example, fault code 21 is indicated by two flashes for the first digit and one flash for the second digit. p. 58

How do I bleed the fuel system on a New Holland TN-A tractor?

To bleed the fuel system, unscrew the bleed plug on the fuel filter by two turns. Pump the lever until fuel without air bubbles spurts out, then tighten the plug. Next, unscrew the fuel injectors, pump the lever again until fuel without air bubbles spurts out, and tighten the injectors. p. 131

What are the replacement specs for the fuel filter cartridge on a New Holland TN60A, TN70A, TN75A tractor?

The fuel filter cartridge should be replaced every 300 hours of work. After replacing the cartridge by hand, you must bleed the air from the fuel system as described on page 4-27. p. 120

What is the correct valve clearance for the engine on a New Holland TN60A, TN70A, TN75A tractor?

The valve clearance for both intake and exhaust valves must be checked when the engine is cold. The clearance should be 0.30 ± 0.05 mm (0.01 ± 0.002 in.). p. 125

What is the correct tension for the fan belt?

The fan belt tension should be 10 to 11 mm (0.3937 to 0.4330 in.) when measured with a load of 78 to 98 N. If the belt is cracked or requires frequent adjustment, it must be replaced. p. 113

How will I receive this New Holland TN60A Operator Manual?

You get a 178-page searchable PDF that downloads instantly after checkout. Open it on your laptop, tablet, or phone, and bring it right to the shop floor.
