Case Corporation shop manual 7-67882, printed April 1998, for the 8910, 8920, 8930, 8940 and 8950 and their 7210 through 7250 Pro twins - the book's own capacity table pairs them model for model. Eight tabs: General, Fuel, Electrical, Steering, Power Train, Brakes, Hydraulics and Chassis. That gets you tractor split procedures for the speed and range transmissions, MFD axle and clutch work, brake valve and cylinder service, the full wiring schematic set with a 112 connector reference, and hydraulic pressure and leakage testing through electronic hitch calibration. One honest note up front: Tab 2, Engine, is a separate volume and is not in this file - fuel system work is covered, engine internals are not.

Case IH 8910-8950 / 7210-7250 Pro Common Problems This Manual Covers
Weak or slow hydraulics - remotes creep, hitch lifts slowly, steering feels heavy at idle
Run the regulated system tests in Hydraulic Troubleshooting before pulling anything apart. Spec is 280 to 300 psi at 1800 rpm, leakage under 0.5 gpm is acceptable and over 1.0 gpm is excessive, with a 23 gpm flow threshold for the front regulated pump. Those numbers tell you whether it is the pump or a leaking circuit.

The manual has you flow test the clutch circuit in every gear before committing to a split. Normal is 1 to 2 gpm in all gears; a reading more than 4 gpm below your baseline points to internal leakage in a specific clutch pack, which then tells you whether you need the speed transmission split or the range/pinion split.

The Brakes section gives a hard pass/fail number: brake piston pressure drop must not exceed 50 psi per minute. Test it, then the section walks the brake valve and the brake cylinders themselves, plus the hydraulic and pneumatic trailer brake valves if your tractor tows braked implements.

Start with the neutral start switch procedure and the fuse and relay identification charts, then chase the circuit on the ladder schematics with wire colours and gauges. The 112 connector reference with cavity codes lets you pin test at each junction instead of guessing where the harness went bad.

Does this manual cover engine rebuild work on the 6-830, 6T-830 and 6TA-830?
No, and you should know that before buying. Tab 2 Engine is a separate Case volume that is not included here. What IS in this book is the fuel system: injection pump drive gear nut torques, injector retaining bolt torques, fuel tank and level sensor service. If your job is head gaskets, liners or bearings, you need the engine volume. If it is anything from the flywheel back, or fuel delivery, this is your book. p. 18
Are the wiring schematics actually usable, or just an overview drawing?
They are the real thing and they are the strongest part of this manual. Full ladder style circuits broken out by system, with wire gauge and colour codes on every run, plus a connector reference covering 112 connectors with cavity locations and wire colours. There are also harness views for the transmission and engine harnesses. For chasing a dead circuit on a 1998 machine with an electronic hitch, this is exactly what you want on the bench. p. 69
Is there a hydraulic circuit schematic in the book?
Straight answer: no. Case printed the hydraulic schematic as a separate wall poster, form 7-66730, and it is not bound into this manual. What the Hydraulics tab does carry is the troubleshooting logic, pressure tests such as regulated system pressure of 280 to 300 psi at 1800 rpm, leakage pass/fail thresholds, and full component sections for the pumps, priority and remote valves, hitch valve and couplers. You can diagnose and repair without the poster, you just cannot trace the whole circuit on one page. p. 702
My electronic hitch is acting up. Does the manual cover calibration and the error codes?
Yes. The Hydraulic System section includes electronic hitch calibration and the error code listings, plus the hitch valve and mechanical hitch sections that usually turn out to be the real problem. These tractors are old enough that sensor and linkage wear is common, so having the calibration procedure and the code definitions in one place saves a dealer visit. p. 986
I have a 7240 Pro, not an 8940. Is this the right book, and can I keyword search it?
It is the right book. Case built these as the same machines and the manual's own capacity table pairs them: 8910/8920 are the 7210/7220 Pro, 8930 is the 7230 Pro, 8940/8950 are the 7240/7250 Pro. One caveat: this is a scan of the paper book with no text layer, so you navigate by the tab structure and contents pages rather than typing search terms. p. 9
