All 344 pages of this Fiat 55-75, 60-75, 70-75, 80-75, 55-65, 60-65, 70-65, 80-65, 465C, 565C, 665C, 765C workshop manual PDF (OEM #603.54.257.01) cover one job: rebuilding these wheeled and crawler tractors to factory spec. You get hydraulic schematics for the steering clutch circuit, wiring diagrams down to the injection pump solenoid, and Bosch VE plus CAV DPS pump calibration data. Exploded views and step-by-step procedures walk you through the master clutch, transmission and splitter, bevel drive adjustments, brakes, final drives, PTO, and the full undercarriage on the crawler models. When it's time for stub axle removal, machine your dummy screws to M18x1.5 from 35 Cr Mo 4 steel, and set up the 10-inch twin plate master clutch the way Fiat built it. Your tractor predates the internet; forum threads won't save you. Bookmarked chapters jump you straight to any system, and the PDF opens on laptop, tablet, or phone right at the machine.

Fiat 55-75 final drive grinds when turning, stub axle side runs hot to the touch
Drain the final drive oil and check the drain plug for metal flake. Pull each stub axle with two M18x1,5 dummy screws (tool 50042, page 203) and inspect the differential spider gears for broken teeth. Torque the housing fasteners to the values in the power train torque table on page 32 during reassembly.
Manual Section: Power Train p. 27Master clutch slips under full load and hand lever engagement feels soft
Check hand lever free travel first; late engagement usually means the linkage has stretched. On the 465C through 765C crawlers the master clutch is a 10 inch twin plate dry unit, specifications on page 293, so inspect both driven plates for glazing and oil contamination. Replace facings in pairs and reset the overcentre engagement.
Manual Section: Specifications p. 293Hydraulic lift raises the implement but bleeds down and won't hold position
Test holding ability first: raise a loaded implement, shut the engine off, and watch for drift over a five minute hold. Steady drop points to a leaking check valve or worn cylinder seals rather than the pump. Recheck the on-tractor draft control adjustment on page 77, then trace internal leak paths on the hydraulic schematic on page 68.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Lift Unit p. 77Engine overheats after 30 minutes of heavy plowing even with full coolant
Drain the cooling system and flush the block; sediment in these older tractors packs the lower radiator tank. Rod out or replace the radiator core, then check the water pump impeller for wear using the cooling system procedures in the engine section starting on page 15. Refill with a 50/50 antifreeze and water mix and recheck belt tension.
