This is the full three-manual set for the FiatAllis FX210 and FX210LC crawler excavators built from 1990 to 1996: the Service Manual with troubleshooting and complete repair procedures, the Parts Manual for the FX210LC variant, and the Operator's Manual for daily operation and maintenance. These machines run a 6-cylinder turbocharged direct injection diesel (102 mm bore, 120 mm stroke, 5580 cc, 137 hp at 2000 rpm governed) feeding two variable displacement axial piston pumps on a 24-volt electrical system. Coverage runs through the superstructure, swing bearing, undercarriage and travel unit, boom/arm/bucket and their cylinders, the triple articulation hydraulic circuits, and the starting, charging, E-P control and monitoring circuits. If you are keeping one of these alive without dealer support, this is the paperwork that does it.

FiatAllis FX210 / FX210LC Common Problems This Manual Covers

Excavator will not travel, or travel is very weak

Work the Hydraulic System troubleshooting in order: check oil level, then the hydraulic filter, then measure servo pressure before condemning hardware. The section covers the two variable displacement main pumps, the suction, delivery and return circuits, and the engine coupling, which is a known failure point that mimics pump death.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System
All hydraulic functions slow, weak or unresponsive

The Hydraulic System section covers the main pumps and control valve with the pressure checks that separate a worn pump from oil starvation, a blocked filter or a servo control fault. Measuring at the points the manual specifies saves you from replacing an expensive pump when the fix is a filter and clean oil.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System
Bucket teeth dropping off or clattering during digging

This is worn bucket tooth pins, fatigued springs, or a mismatched pin and seat. The Front-End Attachments section covers the bucket, its pins and wear surfaces, plus the arm and cylinders, so you can check the end face wear between bucket and arm that also causes the knocking noise operators complain about.

Manual Section: Front-End Attachments p. 1071
Track derails or tangles on rough ground

The Undercarriage section gives the track adjuster and track spring procedures for setting correct tension, plus inspection and repair coverage of the front idler, rollers and travel unit. Correct tension per the manual is the fix; a slack chain on uneven ground is what lets the track climb off the sprocket.

Frequently Asked Questions

The machine barely moves or has no travel power at all. Will this manual actually help me find the cause?

Yes, and this is the number one complaint on these machines. The Service Manual troubleshooting walks the exact chain you need to check: hydraulic oil level, clogged hydraulic filter, engine coupling condition, servo pressure at or near zero, and main pump failure. It tells you which pressure to measure and where, so you are not swapping a pump on a guess when the real problem is a starved suction line or a plugged filter.

How do I read or reset fault codes on the FX210 monitor?

Straight answer: this is a 1990-1996 machine and the monitoring system is warning lamps, gauges and sender circuits, not a digital display spitting out code numbers. There is no code list to reset. What the Service Manual gives you instead is the electrical section covering the monitoring system, E-P control, starting, charging and lighting circuits, so you can trace a lit warning lamp back to the actual sender, wire or fault instead of chasing codes that do not exist on this model.

Does it include torque specs and pressure settings, like for the swing bearing and undercarriage bolts?

The Service Manual carries the tightening torques and hydraulic pressure values inside its repair procedures for each system, including the superstructure with swing bearing and the undercarriage. That matters because loose fasteners are a documented cause of structural noise on these machines, and guessing torque on a swing bearing bolt circle is how you end up doing the job twice. Follow the values in the relevant procedure rather than a generic bolt chart.

I have the FX210LC, not the standard FX210. Am I covered?

Yes. The Service Manual and Operator's Manual cover both the FX210 and FX210LC, and the Parts Manual in this set is specifically for the FX210LC variant. The LC differs mainly in the undercarriage, so having the LC parts breakdown means the roller, idler and track hardware you order will actually match what is under your machine.

My tracks keep coming loose and the crawler has derailed on rough ground. What does the manual say?

Track tangling and derailing on these machines almost always trace back to slack track tension or damage from working rough terrain with loose chains. The Undercarriage section covers the track adjuster, track spring, front idler and rollers, with the adjustment procedure and the wear checks. The Operator's Manual also covers routine tension checks so you catch it before the track walks off the idler. p. 989
