What's inside: three FiatAllis books bound into one 1,248-page file for the FX310 crawler excavator - the volumes dealers sold separately. Pages 1-114 are the Operation and Maintenance manual (introduction, operation, inspection and servicing, repair work and the annex). Pages 115-547 are the illustrated Parts Manual: undercarriage, hydraulic and fuel tanks, swings, counter balance, engine, travel and slewing gear, swing brake, hydraulic system, heater, greasing system, electrical system and sheet metal. Pages 548-1248 are the Service Manual - the FiatAllis Technical Handbook - running its numbered sections from How To Use and Specifications through General, Superstructure, Diesel Boxes, Undercarriage, Front-End Attachments, Hydraulic System, Electrical System and Equipment to the EDS operating instructions, fittings, pipes and hoses, welding for maintenance and repair, and the sealing, protective, checking and cleaning agents. On diagrams, precisely: the Technical Handbook explains circuits and refers to them by component number, and it carries sectional views of the hydraulic components and the electrical procedures - including emergency operation of the proportional valve when the electronic regulator fails - but it does not print drawn wiring or hydraulic schematic sheets.

FiatAllis FX310 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Excavator digs slow, stalls under load, or travel pulls to one side
Run the excavator performance test in Section 10, then check the suspect circuit against the components performance standard - main pump, travel motor, swing motor and the relief valves all have listed standards to test against.
Manual Section: Service Manual, Section 10 - Troubleshooting p. 548Swing is weak, drifts on a slope, or bangs at the end of travel
Section 10 lists performance standards for the swing motor and the swing crossover relief valve. Test them against the standard first, then use the superstructure section for the actual teardown and repair if a component is out of spec.
Manual Section: Service Manual, Section 4 - Superstructure / Section 10 - Troubleshooting p. 548Gauges reading wrong or the meter board acting up
Section 9 covers electrical system tests plus gauge-panel and meter-board maintenance with step photographs and tightening torques, so you can test the circuit, pull the panel correctly and torque it back without cracked housings or stripped fasteners.
Manual Section: Service Manual, Section 9 - Electrical System p. 548Worn track components and you are unsure what to order
Use the Service Manual undercarriage section to measure wear and decide what actually needs replacing, then pull exact part numbers from the Parts Manual undercarriage illustrations so the rollers, idlers or link hardware you order fit the first time.
Manual Section: Service Manual, Section 5 - Undercarriage + Parts Manual p. 922Frequently Asked Questions
Is this one manual or the complete set?
Three separate FiatAllis publications in a single file: Operation and Maintenance, the illustrated Parts Manual, and the Service / Repair Manual. Dealers sold these individually, so having all three together means you look up a part number, check the service procedure and confirm the maintenance interval without switching books.
Can I identify part numbers for the undercarriage and attachments?
Yes. The Parts Manual has exploded illustrations for the engine, counterweight, attachments, undercarriage, decals and optionals. You match the callout in the drawing to the part listing, which is how you order the right roller or pin instead of eyeballing a worn one at the counter.
My FX310 is slow or weak - does this help me diagnose it?
That is exactly what Section 10 Troubleshooting is for. It is indexed by group and covers diagnosing hydraulic and electric malfunctions, an excavator performance test, and component performance standards for the pilot, main, overload, swing crossover and travel crossover relief valves, plus the main pump, travel motor and swing motor. You test against the standard and find which component is off. p. 548
Does the electrical section include a full wiring schematic?
No drawn schematic sheet or wiring table is included, so be straight about that. What Section 9 does give you is circuit operation descriptions, electrical system test procedures, and gauge-panel and meter-board maintenance with step photographs and tightening torques. Enough to test and repair the circuits it covers, not to rewire the machine from scratch.
Are lifting capacities and machine specs included?
Yes. The Operation and Maintenance manual carries the specifications and lifting capacity tables along with the safety rules and warning symbols. The Service Manual repeats specifications in its Section 2 for shop use. Useful when a rigger or inspector asks what the machine is rated to pick at a given radius. p. 548
