TM408519 is the factory repair manual for John Deere 6110M, 6120M, 6130M, 6135M, 6140M and 6145M tractors built 2015-2022. This is the procedures book: step-by-step removal, disassembly, specifications and reinstallation for the PowerTech 4.5L diesel and its after-treatment, the PowrQuad PLUS / AutoQuad PLUS transmission, MFWD front axle, rear wet brakes, hydrostatic steering, hitch and SCV hydraulics, cab and HVAC, plus the suspended front axle and cab suspension. You get fluid capacities (16 L engine oil with filter, 52 L transmission/hydraulic, 28.2 L coolant), torque values and predelivery checks up front. If you are splitting the tractor, pulling a clutch pack or reringing the 4.5L, this is the book the dealer tech works from.

John Deere 6110M-6145M Common Problems This Manual Covers

Engine cranks but is hard to start or will not start

On these tractors that is almost always fuel: air in the system, clogged filters, or water and dirt in the tank. The Engine section's fuel system procedures cover filter replacement, bleeding air out of the lines and low-pressure system checks so you work through it in order instead of swapping parts.

Manual Section: Engine - Fuel System
Transmission/hydraulic oil running hot

A clogged transmission/hydraulic filter or a plugged oil cooler starves the system and cooks the 52 L oil charge. The Hydraulic System section covers the charge pump, filtration circuit and filter service, and the Engine cooling section covers cleaning the cooler stack so airflow and oil flow both get restored.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System - Oil Filtration
Every switch in the cab dead at once

When all cab electrics die together, suspect a loose, corroded or blown fusible link rather than ten separate failures. The Electrical System section shows connector locations, the charging and starting circuits and control unit removal, so you can find and repair the link instead of tearing the harness apart blind.

Manual Section: Electrical System & Electronic Control Units
Low oil pressure warning with engine knock

Shut it down and check level and viscosity first, because knocking under low pressure is bearings getting hurt in real time. The General Information section lists the correct oil spec and the 16 L fill, and the Engine section covers lubrication system inspection and bearing replacement if you caught it late.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this manual have the diagnostic trouble codes and wiring schematics?

No, and you should know that before buying. These are Final Tier 4 electronic tractors and Deere splits the documentation: TM408519 is the Repair manual, meaning component removal, installation, specs and adjustments. The fault-code charts, diagnostic tests and full electrical/hydraulic schematics are in the separate Diagnosis and Tests technical manual. If the CommandCenter is throwing codes and you want to chase them, you need that companion book. If you already know what is broken and need to fix it, this is the one.

Which serial numbers and model years does it cover?

The 6110M, 6120M, 6130M, 6135M, 6140M and 6145M from 2015 through 2022. Note that Deere issued a separate manual for the MY20 refresh models, so if your tractor is a late-build with the updated spec, check your serial number plate against the manual coverage before you buy. The plate is on the right side of the frame.

Does it cover splitting the tractor and rebuilding the PowrQuad clutch packs?

Yes. The transmission section walks through the shift control, PowrQuad module removal, clutch pack disassembly, plate and spring specs, the range transmission and the creeper. It also covers the driveline behind it: driveshafts, differential, final drives and the MFWD front axle. This is the job this manual earns its money on, because guessing at clutch pack stack heights gets expensive fast.

Is the engine section a full rebuild guide or just removal and installation?

Both. It covers pulling the PowerTech 4.5L (106.5 mm bore, 127 mm stroke), fuel system service, cooling system work and the exhaust after-treatment hardware these Tier 4 machines carry. Fitting specs and assembly torques are in the book, so you can do in-frame work or a full out-of-frame rebuild without guessing clearances.

What format is the manual and can I print it?

It is a PDF, searchable, with the same section layout the dealer version uses. Print the pages you need for the shop floor, keep the file on a laptop or tablet next to the tractor. The general information section up front has all the capacities and lubricant specs, which is worth printing on its own and taping inside the toolbox lid.
