Five models, one manual: this 53-page Kubota L175 Shop Manual PDF covers the L175, L210, L225, L225DT, and L260 tractors from front axle to hydraulic lift. You get detailed exploded-view diagrams covering the transfer case, model-specific transmission gear trains, differential and bevel gear assemblies, final drive bull gears, and PTO overrunning clutch. Fifteen pages of torque tables and 20 pages of procedures walk through tractor splits, clutch overhauls, and differential backlash adjustments, with separate callouts distinguishing L175/L225/L225DT procedures from L210 and L260. Cold valve tappet gap is 0.18-0.22 mm on the L175/L225/L225DT; set injection timing at 25° BTDC before the first cold start. No more chasing specs across three different service sheets. Bookmarked and keyword-searchable, it opens on your phone or tablet right there on the shop floor.

Kubota L175–L260 Series Common Problems This Manual Covers

Kubota L175 engine ticking noise from cylinder head and loss of power under heavy load p. 3

Adjust the valve tappet gap to 0.18-0.22 mm (0.007-0.009 inch) cold as shown on page 3. Inspect the cam followers for unusual wear patterns before tightening the locknuts. Verify the compression release linkage operates smoothly without binding. Recheck the clearance after locking.

Manual Section: Engine Overhaul & Adjustments
Grinding noise from the front axle during tight turns or four wheel drive engagement p. 7

Remove the outer drive assembly and inspect the bevel gears for chipped teeth. Torque the outer drive assembly nut to 147-196 N.m (108.5-144.7 ft.-lbs.) during reassembly as specified on page 7. Check the king pins for excessive play before returning to service.

Manual Section: Front-Wheel Drive
Poor compression on all cylinders and hard starting in cold weather conditions p. 3

Remove the cylinder head and inspect the valves for pitting or burning. Grind the valve faces to a 45 degree angle as specified on page 3. Lap the valves into the seats until a continuous gray ring appears, then clean all abrasive compound away.

Manual Section: Engine Overhaul & Adjustments
Deep knocking sound from the lower engine block that worsens as engine RPM increases p. 18

Drain the oil and remove the oil pan to inspect the main bearings. Measure the rear crankshaft main journal bearing clearance using Plastigage. Ensure the clearance falls within the 0.05-0.114 mm (0.002-0.0045 inch) limit shown on page 18 before installing new bearing shells.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset the hydraulic relief valve on a Kubota L175?

To adjust the hydraulic relief valve on a Kubota L175, first remove the lift cover and then turn the adjusting screw (46-Fig. 148) on the control valve body. A low or high relief pressure can also be corrected by adding or removing shims in the relief valve (4-Fig. 146), where one 1 mm (0.040 inch) shim changes the pressure by approximately 2346 kPa (340 psi). The system relief pressure should be 11.73 MPa (1700 psi).

What are the torque specs for Kubota L210 head bolts?

For the Kubota L210, the big (14 mm) stud nuts on the cylinder head should be tightened to a torque of 201-210 N·m (148-155 ft.-lbs.). The small (10 mm) stud nuts should be tightened to a torque of 49-61 N·m (36-45 ft.-lbs.). All stud nuts should be tightened a little at a time, following the sequence shown in Fig. 8 on page 8.

What are the torque specs for Kubota L225DT wheel nuts?

When reinstalling the wheel on a Kubota L225DT, the lug nuts should be tightened to a torque of 77.4-90.2 N·m (57.1-66.5 ft.-lbs.). This procedure is part of the outer drive assembly reassembly, as outlined in paragraph 6.

Why is my Kubota L260 showing an error code or warning light?

The Kubota L260 may show a warning light for specific conditions. The oil pressure warning lamp sending unit switch is designed to open at 147.7 kPa (21.4 psi) if oil pressure is low. The glow plug indicator light will glow after about 10 seconds if the unit is operating satisfactorily, and will fail to glow if the circuit is open.

What do I get after purchasing this Kubota L175–L260 Series manual?

You get a 53-page searchable PDF that downloads instantly after checkout. Open it on your laptop, tablet, or phone - bring it right to the shop floor.

Can I print this Kubota L175–L260 Series manual?
