Two telehandlers share this book: the 214-page Manitou MT-X 732, MT-X 1030 ST repair manual PDF, factory publication 00-M186EN, applies to both machines from engine bay to electrical harness. The telescopic boom claims the largest chapter, close to a third of the book, with control, adjustment and full removal procedures. Hydraulic and electrical chapters follow with schematic diagrams that trace each circuit, plus component location views showing where each valve and connector sits on your machine. Bleed the brake circuit at 1 to 1.2 bar, and hold slide pad play between 0 and 0.5 mm before the pad nuts go to 92.6 N.m. A made-up slide pad torque comes back as boom play. Bookmarks mark all nine chapters and the text layer is searchable, so you land on the wiring diagrams or the brake bleed procedure in seconds.

Manitou MT-X 732, MT-X 1030 ST Common Problems This Manual Covers

Manitou MT-X 732 main hydraulic circuit pressure low with telescopic boom functions slow or weak under load

Test main circuit pressure following the Hydraulic Pressure Control procedure on page 153. On the MT-X 732, the main pressure relief valve setting is 240 bar. Before blaming the valve, check the hydraulic oil level in the tank, which holds 128 L (page 140). A low tank pulls every pressure reading down.

Manual Section: Hydraulic Pressure Control p. 153
Steering circuit pressure below spec with steering slow or heavy when turning the steering wheel

Measure steering circuit pressure following the check on page 154 and compare the reading against 140 bar. That value applies to both the MT-X 732 and the 1030 ST. If pressure is low, verify the hydraulic tank level and inspect the 125 μm suction strainer listed on page 139 before you open up the steering circuit.

Manual Section: Hydraulic Pressure Control p. 154
Telescopic boom sections loose with excess play at the slide pads during extension and retraction

Measure slide pad play between the boom sections following page 68 and adjust it to 0 to 0.5 mm. Once the play is set, torque the slide pad nuts to 92.6 N.m (±25%). Check every pad position on both sides, not just the one you can hear knocking, then run the boom through its full stroke.

Manual Section: Boom Control and Adjustment p. 68
Strain gauge on longitudinal stability warning device suspected faulty, with warning triggering repeatedly

Check the strain gauge following the Electrical Control and Adjustment procedure on page 205. Measure supply resistance and confirm it reads between 300 Ω and 400 Ω. A reading outside that range points to the gauge or its circuit, so verify the wiring against the electrical schematic diagrams before you condemn the gauge.

Manual Section: Electrical Control and Adjustment p. 205
Brake circuit holding air after component replacement, brake pedal feels soft or spongy

Bleed the brake circuit following the procedure on page 53, using a bleeding pressure of 1 to 1.2 bar. Keep the brake fluid tank topped up while you work. It holds only 0.75 L (page 46), so it runs low quickly. When you're done, check brake pedal height using the Brake Control and Adjustment procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the torque specifications for the Manitou MT-X 732 transmission?

The transmission tightening torque specifications are provided in a table on page 29. For example, an M10 bolt of class 8.8 requires 44 N.m, while an M12 bolt of class 8.8 requires 76 N.m. p. 29

What are the torque specifications for the Manitou MT-X 1030 ST axle?

The axle assembly drawing on page 35 gives tightening torques of 340 N.m ± 10%, 480 N.m ± 10% and 63 N.m ± 15%. p. 35

What is the replacement interval for the CleanFix option filter on the Manitou MT-X 732, MT-X 1030 ST?

The filter for the CleanFix option should be changed every 500 hours of operation. The Manitou reference number for this filter is 781443. p. 25

What is the procedure for bleeding the brake circuit on the MT-X?

Bleeding requires a pressurized brake bleeder (1 to 1.2 bar, Ref. 554 019). Start with the most distant bleed point (rear axle) and work towards the nearest (front axle), ensuring fluid flows without air bubbles. p. 53

What is the tightening torque for the boom slide pad nuts on the Manitou MT-X 732, MT-X 1030 ST?

When shimming the boom slide pads, the nuts must be tightened to a torque of 92.6 N.m ± 25%. p. 68

How will I receive this Manitou MT-X 732 Repair Manual?

One searchable PDF covering 214 pages, delivered instantly. No disc, no shipping, no waiting on the post.
