This is the factory service manual for the McCormick C Series tractors: the C60, C75, C85, C95, C105 and C-MAX. It runs 1,201 pages and is the book the dealer technician works from. Unlike the larger McCormick chassis manuals, this one includes the full engine section, so it covers engine overhaul as well as removal, alongside the clutch, the transmission, the four wheel drive front axle, the power take-off, the hydraulic circuit, the mechanical power lift, the electrical system with its schematics, the air conditioning and the electronic calibration and troubleshooting procedures. There is a dedicated troubleshooting section that diagnoses faults by symptom and a special tools listing. These are the compact and utility tractors, and the manual carries the identification data and the technical specifications for each model in the range.

McCormick C60-C105 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Transmission will not engage a gear, slips, or fails

Work the Transmission section together with the Clutch section. Transmission covers the gearbox and range servicing, the synchronizers and the shifting mechanism, while Clutch covers the clutch adjustment and replacement that so often causes a no engagement complaint. The dedicated Troubleshooting section points you to the right one by symptom so you do not split the tractor for a fault that is really in the clutch.

Manual Section: Transmission
Engine loses power, overheats, or has seized

This is where the C Series manual goes further than the bigger McCormick books: it carries the full Engine section, so you get the overhaul as well as the removal, with the timing, the cooling system and the lubrication system. That lets you diagnose a power loss or an overheat to its real cause and rebuild the engine from the same book rather than buying a second manual.

Manual Section: Engine
Hydraulics will not lift, the lift is slow, or the steering is heavy

Work the Hydraulic Circuit and Mechanical Power Lift sections. Hydraulic Circuit covers the pump, the valves and the circuit troubleshooting, and Mechanical Power Lift covers the rear lift, the draft control and the linkage. Together they let you trace a weak lift to the pump or a relief setting and a heavy steer to the supply, working the circuit instead of guessing.

Manual Section: Hydraulic Circuit
Front axle vibration, misalignment, or noise on four wheel drive

Go to the 4WD Front Axle section. It covers the front axle removal and servicing, the differential, the final drives and the front wheel steering, with the alignment and the bearing checks. That lets you pin a vibration to a worn bearing or a misalignment and set it right rather than living with it.

Manual Section: 4WD Front Axle

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this manual cover engine overhaul on the C Series?

Yes. This is a point worth making: unlike the larger McCormick chassis manuals that send you to a separate engine book, the C Series manual carries the full Engine section. You get the engine overhaul, the timing, the cooling and the lubrication systems alongside removal and refitting, so the whole engine job is in one manual.

What power do the C Series tractors make?

They run from the C60 at 58.5 HP (43 kW) and the C75 at 68.2 HP (50.2 kW) up through the C85, C95 and C105, with the model number tracking roughly to the rated horsepower. The manual carries the full identification and technical specification data for each model, including the high clearance and C-MAX variants.

Are the wiring and hydraulic diagrams included?

Yes. The Electrical System section carries the wiring schematics along with the components, battery and charging coverage, and the Hydraulic Circuit section carries the pump, valves and circuit troubleshooting. There is also a dedicated Troubleshooting section that works faults by symptom and a Calibration section for the electronic systems.

Does it have a troubleshooting section?

Yes, a dedicated one. On top of the troubleshooting built into the Hydraulic Circuit and the other systems, the manual has a standalone Troubleshooting section that diagnoses faults by symptom across the tractor, plus a Calibration section and a Special Tools listing so you have the procedures and the right tools together.
