New Holland PowerStar 65, PowerStar 75 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Fault code 3146 (DTC 11C-03): water in fuel detected
The Fault Codes (DTC) section lists water in the fuel as cause 1 for code 3146. Drain the water from the fuel filter, then check whether the code is still present and active. If it is gone or inactive, the tractor can go back to work.
Manual Section: Electrical systems - FAULT CODES p. 2378Power shuttle tractor will not move
The power shuttle troubleshooting in the Transmission section points to low system pressure when the tractor will not move. Check system pressure against the Power-Shuttle and services working pressure of 17.50 to 18.50 Kg/cm² (248.91 to 263.13 psi). The Hydraulic systems section carries the power shuttle transmission hydraulic schema for tracing that circuit.
Manual Section: Power shuttle transmission - Troubleshooting p. 332Rear lift moves in jerks
The lift troubleshooting chart in the Hitches section gives low oil in the tank as a cause of jerky lift. The lift, transmission, PTO and steering share one fill, so bring the oil back up to the correct level. That is 36.0 L on mechanical tractors and 39.0 L on hydraulic tractors, with more needed when a loader is fitted.
Manual Section: Rear three-point hitch - Troubleshooting p. 1199Fault code 3059 (DTC 225-03): main relay stuck
In the Fault Codes (DTC) section, cause 2 for code 3059 is a faulty ECU main relay. Test the relay. If it does not operate correctly, replace ECU main relay K-200. The same section covers 3238 (DTC 1D1-03) - ECU internal failure, and the Electronic modules section has the ECU electrical schema.
Manual Section: Electrical systems - FAULT CODES p. 2341Frequently Asked Questions
Which tractors does the New Holland PowerStar 65 and 75 Tier 4B service manual cover?
It covers the PowerStar 65 and PowerStar 75 Tier 4B (final) for North America, with cab and without cab. Engine codes are F5DFL463B*G001 on the 65 and F5DFL463A*G002 on the 75. Both the mechanical and the power shuttle transmissions are covered. p. 2
What are the fuel tank and engine oil capacities of the PowerStar 65 and 75?
The fuel tank holds 90 l and the engine oil sump takes 8.5 l. The cooling system holds 14 l on tractors without a cab and 16 l on cab tractors. p. 21
How much oil do the rear transmission, hydraulic lift, PTO and steering take?
The rear transmission, gearbox, hydraulic lift, PTO and hydraulic steering all run from one shared fill. Mechanical transmissions take 36.0 L (9.5 US gal) and hydraulic transmissions take 39.0 L (10.3 US gal). With a front loader fitted, those become 38.5 L (10.2 US gal) and 41.5 L (11.0 US gal). p. 21
What is the rear lift capacity of the New Holland PowerStar 65 and 75?
Lift capacity at the ball ends is 2192 kg (4833 lb). With the center of gravity 610 mm (24 in) out from the ball ends, it drops to 1662 kg (3664 lb). The linkage is category I and II, and the pressure regulating valve is calibrated to 190 to 195 bar (2755 to 2828 psi). p. 1150
Does the manual include wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics and fault codes?
Yes. The Wiring harnesses section carries the electrical schematic sheets, with component and connector references. Hydraulic systems has schemas for the mechanical drive line, the power shuttle transmission, the front loader and the remote valves. The FAULT CODES - DTC section has diagnostic articles such as 3059 (DTC 225-03) Main relay stuck error and 3238 (DTC 1D1-03) ECU internal failure. p. 1519
