New Holland Speedrower 200, Speedrower 240 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Engine does not start
Engine - Troubleshooting lists this symptom as The Engine Does Not Start. The causes it lists start with a dead or faulty battery and also include no fuel in the tank, where the remedy is to refuel. The same Engine section also covers the fuel filters, fuel injection tests, air cleaners and the cooling system, and the Electrical system section carries the DATAR engine tests.
Manual Section: Engine - Troubleshooting p. 72Noisy charge pump
Pump - Troubleshooting - Charge Pump lists low oil supply as a cause of a noisy charge pump, and the remedy it gives is to fill the reservoir. The Hydrostatic Drive section around that table also covers the ground drive pumps and motors, case pressure tests and range-shift testing.
Manual Section: Pump - Troubleshooting - Charge Pump p. 226Foaming hydraulic fluid
Charge pump - Troubleshooting in the Hydraulic Systems section traces foaming fluid to improper fluid. The remedy it gives is to drain and refill with proper fluid. The lubricants and fluid capacities tables are in the Introduction, and the same Hydraulic Systems section covers the charge pump, reservoir and return lines.
Manual Section: Charge pump - Troubleshooting p. 485Fault code E0006-03 Alternator charge voltage - Shorted to high source
The circuit test for this code in FAULT CODES expects about 12.6 - 15.5 V. If the reading is wrong, stop the engine. The book says the alternator's internal voltage regulator has failed and the alternator must be replaced. The Harnesses and connectors section carries the electrical schematic sheet for Starting/Charging, and the connector diagrams for the same circuit.
Manual Section: Electrical systems - FAULT CODES p. 1927Frequently Asked Questions
Which machines does the New Holland Speedrower 200/240 service manual cover?
It covers the Speedrower 200 and Speedrower 240 self-propelled windrower. The cover reads part number 47698329, 1st edition English, April 2014. Engine code F4HE9687 is listed for both models in North America and the International Region. p. 1
What is the fuel tank capacity and engine oil fill of the Speedrower 200 and 240?
Both models carry 454 l (120 US gal) of fuel. Engine oil is 16 l (16.9 US qt) with the filter. The cooling system holds 31.4 l (8.3 US gal) and the flywheel gearbox 2.5 l (2.6 US qt). Final drives take 0.89 l (0.94 US qt). p. 47
How do the engine torque figures differ between the Speedrower 200 and the Speedrower 240?
Both run 2200 RPM rated, 900 RPM idle and 2250 RPM maximum no-load. At rated RPM the SR200 makes 636 N·m (469 ft-lb) and the SR240 makes 768 N·m (566 ft-lb). Peak torque is 830N·m (612 ft-lb) for the SR200 and 961N·m (709 ft-lb) for the SR240, both at 1600 RPM. p. 55
What does the Speedrower 200/240 weigh and what are the rear axle torques?
Tractor weight is 5092 kg (11,225 lb) for both models, and the book notes that weights are approximate. On the non-powered rear axle, axle extension bolts take 960 N·m (708 lb ft) and pivot pin bolts take 400 N·m (295 lb ft). Wheel to wheel hub is 115 N·m (85 lb ft). Use LOCTITE 277 on the threads of all bolts and nuts in that section. Rear tire inflation pressure is 138 kPa (20 psi). p. 159
Does the Speedrower 200/240 service manual include wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics and fault codes?
Yes. Harnesses and connectors holds the electrical schematic sheets, for example sheet 08 - Starting/Charging, plus the connector diagrams. Hydraulic schemas are in Hydraulic systems, and the merger manifold is in Attachments/Headers. Fold-out electrical schematics 47705560 and 47705561 and fold-out hydraulic schematic 47705562 are at the back. The FAULT CODES - DTC section carries circuit tests by code, such as E0500-12- ECU Recovery - Suppressed - Bad Intelligent Device. p. 763
