This 616-page Daewoo Solar 290LC-V Shop Manual PDF (OEM #2023-7113AE) is the factory book for your hydraulic excavator, from swing bearing to track assembly. Inside you get the factory hydraulic schematic and the full electrical schematic, both drawn for the Solar 290LC-V, plus page after page of teardown and rebuild procedures for the Kawasaki DNB travel motor, main pump with regulator, swing motor, cylinders, and main control valve. A full troubleshooting, testing, and adjustment section walks you through pilot pressure checks and pump regulator setup. Check swing relief pressure at 280 to 290 bar (4,060 to 4,205 psi) with both swing locks engaged, then torque the 1/2-inch split flange bolts to 15 to 18 ft lbs. No more diagnosing pressure drops off forum guesses. Bookmarked with a full text layer: search any spec, jump straight to any section, and get back on the sticks.

Daewoo Solar 290LC-V Common Problems This Manual Covers

Daewoo Solar 290LC-V hydraulic system overheating, slow response and weak digging power under load

Check hydraulic oil level first; the full system holds 260 liters. Clean packed dirt out of the oil cooler fins and clear anything blocking airflow to the cooler. Check cooling fan belt tension. A healthy cooler holds system temperature near 50°C (122°F), the operating spec listed on page 524.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting, Testing and Adjustment p. 209
Swing or travel surges and stalls, pump squeals like cavitation on cold mornings

Check reservoir oil level, then inspect suction piping and hose clamps for air leaks; a loose clamp lets the pump draw air. Pull and clean the 80 mesh, 177 micron intake strainer covered on page 524. Test swing relief pressure with both swing locks engaged; expect 280 to 290 bar (4,060 to 4,205 psi) per page 232.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting, Testing and Adjustment p. 232
Metal flakes and dark gritty oil in the hydraulic reservoir at drain intervals

Drain a sample from the reservoir and cut open the used filter to identify the debris. Steel or bronze flakes usually mean main pump wear; inspect the pump using the disassembly procedures starting on page 355. Flush the circuit, refill with the full 260 liter system charge, and clean the intake strainer before restarting.

Manual Section: Main Pump (with Regulator) p. 355
Hydraulic oil weeping from the center joint and pooling under the machine

Inspect the center joint seals following the inspection and testing procedures on page 249. Wipe everything dry, run each function, and trace the fresh leak to its source. Retorque split flange bolts to spec, 15 to 18 ft lbs on 1/2 inch flanges per page 76, and worm drive hose clamps to 40 to 50 in lbs before condemning seals.

Manual Section: Center Joint (Swivel) p. 249
Boom or arm cylinders drift down under load with controls in neutral

Raise the boom, shut the engine off, and watch the rod to confirm drift. Test the arm load holding valve in the main control valve section starting on page 389. If the cylinder bleeds down internally, reseal it using the procedures on page 257; torque control valve socket bolts to 15 kg m at reassembly per page 426.

Manual Section: Cylinders p. 257

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset or clear a fault code on a Daewoo Solar 290LC-V?

It depends on the fault type. For short-circuit faults (readout numbers 1 through 6 on the malfunction table, such as the E.P.P.R. pump discharge volume control valve or the relief pressure up solenoid), correct the underlying problem, then turn the starter switch from "OFF" to "ON" to clear the code. Open-circuit faults (numbers 7 and up) reset automatically once the problem is corrected, with no key cycle needed. The full readout and reset table is on page 583. p. 583

What is the torque specification for the counterweight mounting bolts on a Solar 290LC-V?

The counterweight mounting bolts for the Solar 290LC-V must be tightened to 408 kg•m (2,950 ft lbs). p. 98

How often should the operator cab air filter be cleaned on a Solar 290LC-V?

The cab air filtration filter, part of the combined heater and air-conditioner unit behind the operator's seat, should be cleaned out at approximately every 500 hours. In dusty conditions, clean and replace it more often. Note this is the cab recirculation filter, not the engine air cleaner. p. 173

What is the standard torque for the main relief valve cap on the main control valve?

The main relief valve cap on the main control valve should be tightened to 10 kg•m (72 ft lbs). p. 431

What is the fuel tank capacity for the Solar 290LC-V?

The fuel tank capacity for the Solar 290LC-V is 435 liters (115 U.S. gal). p. 105
