New Holland Kobelco E265 attachment movements weak or not working, hydraulic power drops under load

Work the hydraulic troubleshooting chart on page 384. Main relief pressure should be 34.3 MPa at P1 and P2 (24.5 MPa at optional P4); if not, inspect or replace the pump and also inspect the pump coupling. Pilot relief pressure should be about 4.5 MPa, otherwise replace the relief valve. With pilot pump primary pressure and the pilot valve P port inlet both about 4.5 MPa (a low inlet means inspect or replace the pilot line filter), pilot valve secondary pressure should be approx. 2.9 MPa for the attachment and 2.3 MPa for travel; if not, inspect or replace the pilot valve.

Travel speed stuck in first gear, will not shift into second speed

The travel circuit has a 2-speed change with auto 1st (low) speed return, which drops back to low speed / high torque at heavy duty (page 123), so a machine that falls to first under load may be working as designed. On the E265 compare against 4.0 km/h in first speed and 6.0 km/h in second speed (page 65), and check the travel pilot valve secondary pressure, approx. 2.3 MPa (page 384).

On the E265 the travel motor relief valve set pressure is 310 bar at 1.2 L/min cracking and 353 bar at 40 L/min total flow (page 279). The parking brake torque is 470 Nm static and 370 Nm dynamic, with a minimum parking brake release pressure of 14 bar (page 279). The travel circuit also carries motor overrun protection that prevents overrunning of the travel motor on a downhill slope, and an auto parking brake (page 123).

The mechatro controller must be adjusted when it is replaced, when the Engine Control Unit (C-3) is replaced, or when ROM DATA FAILURE is displayed, alone or alternating with MECHATRO SET ERROR (page 361). Warm up the engine, turn the air-con switch off and stop the engine, then remove resistors R1 = 1.1 kΩ and R2 = 820 Ω from resistance E-16 near the pressure drain switch; if they stay connected the controller cannot carry out the adjustment. Pressure sensors should signal 0.5 to 4.5 V on a 5 V supply (page 120).
