The mid mount valve circuit is where a narrow T4F gets complicated: a loader function that crawls could be a blown fuse, a plugged filter, or pump flow that was never in spec, and this book gives you the fuse layout, the filter procedure and the hydraulic ratings to tell them apart before you crack a line.

It is New Holland publication 47847507, 364 pages in English, covering the T4.80F, T4.90F, T4.100F and T4.110F. Controls and Instruments walks the display and the overhead, left-hand and right-hand control groups. Working Operations covers the clutch, brakes, trailer braking, four-wheel drive, differential lock and the cab pressurizing system. Maintenance carries the interval schedule, and Troubleshooting lists fault codes, alarms and symptoms.

A guessed torque or relief pressure on a tractor this size strips studs and blows seals. Load the PDF on a phone or tablet and the figures are with you in the field, not an hour away at the dealer.

New Holland T4.80F–T4.110F Common Problems This Manual Covers

One loader or remote function quits

When a single mid mount valve or lift function stops responding while the rest still work, the fault is usually electrical rather than hydraulic. The fuse tables identify F23 lift control valve at 10 A, F24 primary mid mount valve at 25 A, F44 electro-hydraulic remote control at 10 A, and the 7.5 A mid mount valve control unit fuses F26, F28 and F29.

Manual Section: Maintenance p. 311
Wheel nuts loosen after a tire change

Row work and repeated wheel setting changes let nuts back off, and running them loose wallows out the stud holes in the disc. The tightening figures given are 220 N·m (162.3 lb ft) for the front wheel nuts, 310 N·m (228.6 lb ft) for the rear, and 250.0 N·m for the disc to rim nuts.

Manual Section: Working Operations p. 189
Hydraulic filter seeps after service

A spin-on filter cranked down with a strap wrench distorts the seal and weeps under load, and the leak is often blamed on the pump. The procedure is to oil the new seal, hand-tighten until firmly seated, then lock it with an additional 3/4 of a turn, or at most one complete revolution.

Manual Section: Maintenance p. 259
Engine overfilled at the oil change

The two engine sizes in this family do not take the same fill, and topping to an assumed figure pushes oil past the seals. Sump capacity is 8.50 L on the T4.80F and T4.90F and 9.50 L on the T4.100F and T4.110F.

Manual Section: Maintenance p. 202
Three-point hitch lifts slowly under load

A hitch that struggles with a heavy mounted implement sends owners after the lift cylinder when oil level or pump flow is the real limit. Rated flow at maximum engine power is 64 l/min with the standard pump and 80 l/min with the optional pump, and the pressure relief valve is calibrated at 190 bar (2755 psi).

Manual Section: Specifications p. 349
Ballast and implements overload the axles

Adding wheel weights, a front pack and a loaded mounted implement stacks up faster than most operators expect, and an overloaded front axle shows itself as steering wander and bearing wear. Maximum permitted loads are 2000 kg on the front axle, 3500 kg on the rear axle, and 4300 kg total.

Manual Section: Specifications p. 336
Warning message stops work mid season

An alarm on the display during a time-boxed job leaves you deciding whether to keep going or shut down. The Troubleshooting section covers fault code resolution, alarms and symptoms, so you can separate a sensor or service reminder from a failure that needs the tractor parked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which tractors does this manual cover?

It covers the New Holland T4.80F, T4.90F, T4.100F and T4.110F tractors. The file is New Holland operator manual publication 47847507, 364 pages, and it treats all four models together, calling out differences by model where they exist, such as engine oil sump capacity. p. 1

What is the wheel nut torque on a New Holland T4.80F, T4.90F, T4.100F or T4.110F tractor?

Front wheel nuts tighten to 220 N·m (162.3 lb ft) and rear wheel nuts to 310 N·m (228.6 lb ft). The same values are repeated for the wheel disc to hub nuts in the 600 hour maintenance check on page 266. p. 189

Does it list fluid capacities for servicing?

Yes. The Maintenance section gives engine sump capacity of 8.50 L (T4.80F, T4.90F) or 9.50 L (T4.100F, T4.110F), a 96.00 L fuel tank, 2.80 L in the front axle housing, and 44.00 L for the combined rear axle, transmission, hydraulic lift, PTO and hydrostatic steering circuit. p. 202

Are fault codes and alarms explained?

The Troubleshooting section covers fault code resolution, alarm messages and symptom-based diagnosis. Read it with the Display pages in Controls and Instruments, which explain what the instrument cluster is showing you before you start chasing a component. p. 323
