Doosan DX180LC-3 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Doosan DX180LC-3 swing gearbox grinding noise, upper structure won't rotate or rotates slowly under load

Drain the gearbox oil and inspect it for metal flakes before disassembly. Check the No.1 sun gear (23 teeth) and ring gear (82 teeth) for chipped or worn teeth against the specs on page 371, then replace damaged gears and bearings. After reassembly, confirm brake torque holds at 63 kg•m before returning the machine to work.

Manual Section: Swing Device Troubleshooting and Oil Leakage p. 371
Hydraulic oil leaking from swing motor housing and hose fittings after reassembly

Check every flange bolt on the motor mounting surface; a loose bolt or warped flange is the usual cause per page 389. Remove the motor, replace the oil seal and O-rings, clean both mating surfaces, reapply Loctite, and torque the bolts using the standard torque table on page 130. Refill the hydraulic system to its 210 liter capacity.

Manual Section: Swing Device Troubleshooting and Oil Leakage p. 389
Swing gearbox casing runs excessively hot with irregular noise during continuous slewing

Drain the gearbox oil and check it for metal particles, then refill to the specified level as page 297 directs. Let the oil temperature come down before further testing. Test main relief pressure at the pump; anything above the 330 kg/cm2 normal setting works the swing circuit hard and overheats the oil.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System General Troubleshooting p. 297
Error code E010 flashes intermittently on the gauge panel during swing operations

The error code E010 is not listed in the manual. For issues related to swing pressure, refer to error code V000251 'Swing Press. Sensor' on page 768. Troubleshooting for swing system problems, including pressure issues, can be found on page 296. Verify actual relief pressure with a gauge; the normal operation setting is 330 kg/cm2 per page 96. Replace the sensor only if the gauge disagrees with the panel.
