Fits the Landini Vision 80, Vision 90 and Vision 100 in Speedfive, Powerfive and Powershuttle form, footstep or cab. The Vision 80 runs the Perkins 1004.42, the 90 and 100 the turbo 1004.40T, and both engines are covered.

The book runs from the front axle back to the rear PTO. It covers the clutch, gearbox, rear differential, final drives, brakes, mechanical and electronic power lift, front linkage and front PTO, hydraulic pressure tests and air conditioning. There are four separate wiring diagram sets, one for each transmission and platform combination.

A tractor parked mid-season with a slipping shuttle loses you every dry day it sits in the shed. Keep this on a phone or tablet in the cab, so the hydraulic specs are right there next to the pressure gauge.

Landini Vision 80, Vision 90, Vision 100 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Hydraulic clutches slip, steering feels heavy, or the auxiliary control valves and power lift are short on lift

Low maximum valve settings are a common cause. Fit gauges and run the low and high pressure circuit tests with the engine at about 1200 RPM and the oil at 30 to 40 C. Compare your readings against the specified valve settings before you go replacing parts.

Manual Section: Hydraulic Circuit: Components & Pressure Tests p. 483
PTO shaft engages harshly or poorly modulated after the control cable was disturbed

The steel cable (143) from lever O to the servo control (142) on the hydraulic power pack needs resetting. Loosen check nut (186), then unscrew adjuster (187) until it sits against the cable sheath. Lock the check nut and test the engagement again.

Manual Section: Rear Power Take-Off p. 280
Brake pedal free travel creeping out past 80 - 100 mm

The rear friction discs are wearing. Tighten the adjuster nuts (661) to bring free travel back to 30 - 40 mm. Once the nuts reach the end of their threads, replace the discs. Then bleed the circuit and check the brake circuit on-off valve.

Manual Section: Hydraulic Braking System p. 353
Three-point hitch on the mechanical power lift won't hold height or reacts wrongly

Start with the power lift adjustments, then check the operating pressures against the specifications. If it still misbehaves, work through the troubleshooting table, which matches symptoms to causes. The valve phase diagrams show which spool should be moving at each stage.

Manual Section: Mechanical Power Lift p. 527

Frequently Asked Questions

My brake pedal keeps sinking further before it bites. When do the discs need replacing?

The book gives a pedal free travel of 30 - 40 mm. Once it grows to 80 - 100 mm, take up the rear brake wear with the adjuster nuts (661). When those nuts have run out of thread on their rods, the friction discs are finished and must be replaced. The front brakes adjust themselves, so you only chase the rears. Bleeding for both the front and rear circuits is covered too. p. 353

The Powershuttle display is showing AL 099. What failed?

AL 099 points to a short or open circuit inside the electronic control unit, on pins 1 and 14 of terminal board C25 or D13. The fix is a new control unit. Don't stop there, because the Powershuttle module has to be calibrated again afterwards. The calibration chapter lists the conditions the tractor must meet before you start the procedure. p. 1051

What pressures should the hydraulic system be making?

The pump is rated at 180 bar maximum and 53.9 l/min at 2200 RPM. The steering calibrating valve is set at 150±5 bar and the antishock valve at 200 bar. The power pack low pressure valve sits at 20 bar. The system holds 35 l of oil, shared with the transmission. p. 343

Does it cover the turbo engine on the Vision 90 and 100?

Yes. The Perkins 1004.40T is listed at 3.99 liters, with 65 kW on the Vision 90 and 68 kW on the Vision 100. Peak torque comes at 1400 RPM. The DP202 injection pump timing check and the camshaft timing check are both written out. p. 63

What are the valve clearances?

Set them cold at 0.20 mm intake and 0.45 mm exhaust. The engine chapter shows you how to find compression TDC on cylinder No. 1 first, so you know which rockers are free. Doing the lash yourself on a wet morning instead of booking a dealer visit pays for itself. p. 64
