You have the machine parked on level ground with the boom down and a pressure gauge in hand. This repair manual covers the Manitou MT 728, 732, 928, 932 and 1030 S. It also covers the MLT 630 through MLT 1035 L in the Série B-E2, C-E2, 2-E2 and 3-E2 builds from about 2005 to 2007.
Telehandler faults rarely stay in one system. A boom that creeps could be a seal, a spool in the distribution block or the load sensing pump. Guess wrong and you lose a day and pay for a hose you never needed.
The hydraulic and electric diagrams are split by series, and each one has its component legend. Match your build plate to the series and you are on the right diagram. The chapters run by system: engine, transmission, axles, brakes, boom, hydraulics, EMS, electrics and cab.

Manitou MT 732, MT 932, MLT 630, MLT 634, MLT 731 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Parking brake slips or the parking brake warning stays on
Adjust the parking brake using the procedure in the Brake chapter. If that does not fix it, strip it following the disassembly steps in the same section. Run the power-assisted brake circuit check in the Hydraulic chapter. Then check the fuses and relay plate in the Electricity chapter before you replace the switch or sensor.
Manual Section: Brake - Parking brake disassembly and adjustment p. 402Boom drifts down or tilt/crowd loses pressure under load
Compare your gauge readings to the hydraulic circuit pressures listed in the characteristics tables. Then follow the Hydraulic chapter's trouble-shooting steps covering the load sensing pump and distribution block. Use the hydraulic diagram and legend for your series to isolate the tilt circuit before you replace cylinder seals or hoses.
Manual Section: Hydraulic - Trouble-shooting, load sensing pump, distribution block p. 576Drive is slow to engage, slips, or drops out of gear
Measure the torque converter and transmission pressures at the test points given in the Transmission chapter and compare them to the listed values. Work through the test procedure and troubleshooting sequence in order. If the pressures are good, use the E.C.U. harness check on page 342 to find a wiring fault.
Manual Section: Transmission - Test procedure and troubleshooting p. 229Belt squeal, glazed V-belt, or the engine running hot under work
Set the fan belt tension using the adjustment procedure in the Engine chapter. A slack belt slips on the pulley and cuts coolant flow when the engine is working hardest. Then go through the cooling circuit pages in the same chapter before you replace the thermostat or pump.
Manual Section: Engine - Fan belt tension adjustment, cooling circuit p. 188Frequently Asked Questions
Which Perkins engine is fitted to my MT 732 or MLT 634?
The Série B-E2 table on page 9 lists the engine for each model. The MT 732 and MT 932 run the 1104C-44 RE81372, rated 84 cv/61,5 kw. The MLT 634 Turbo LSU has the 1104C-44T RG81374. The MLT 634-120 LSU has the 1104C-44TA RJ81376, rated 123 cv/90,5 kw. All three are 4400 cm3 with a 105 mm bore and 127 mm stroke. Check the suffix before you order filters or gaskets. p. 9
My parking brake will not hold on a slope. Do I have to strip it?
Not always. The Brake chapter walks through parking brake adjustment and disassembly, so start by adjusting it before you pull parts. The Hydraulic chapter has a separate check for the power-assisted brake circuit. If the warning light stays on after adjustment, check the fuse and relay plate in the Electricity chapter before you blame the switch. Bleed the brake circuit using the Brake chapter procedure after any hydraulic work. p. 402
The boom creeps down or the tilt loses pressure under load. Where do I start?
Begin with the hydraulic circuit pressures listed in the characteristics tables at the front of the book. Then use the Hydraulic chapter's trouble-shooting section along with the pages on the load sensing pump and distribution block. Trace the tilt circuit from spool to cylinder on the hydraulic diagram for your series. This tells you whether the leak is in the valve or the cylinder before you spend money on seals. p. 576
Is there a fault code list for the transmission?
No, the book does not print a numbered fault code list. The Transmission chapter gives you torque converter and transmission pressures, a test procedure and a troubleshooting sequence. Page 342 explains how the transmission E.C.U. checks its own harnesses. Put a gauge on the test ports, compare the reading to the listed value, and you know whether the problem is hydraulic or electrical. p. 342
Does it cover the Powershift versions, and do they use the same gearbox?
Yes, and the gearboxes are different. Page 10 lists the MLT 634-120 LSU POWERSHIFT with a SACHS converter, 5 forward and 3 reverse. Page 82 lists the MLT 735-120 LSU POWERSHIFT with a Turner Powertrain Systems converter, also 5 forward and 3 reverse. The standard 4-speed versions have 4 forward and 4 reverse. Confirm which one you have before you order clutch packs or seals. p. 10
