Issued by Manitou under factory document number 547633S, this 88-page Manitou TMT315 operator manual PDF is the original book for the rough terrain forklift truck in both standard and /FL form. The load chart and dimensions sit beside a full tour of the instruments and controls, so you can check rated capacity against load center before a pallet leaves the ground. A quarter of the book belongs to maintenance (filters, cartridges and belts, lubricants, and a servicing schedule keyed to the hour meter), while earlier chapters handle safety decals, load handling rules and mounting the truck onto its carrying trailer. Change the engine oil filter every 200 hours, swap the fuel filter and hydraulic return cartridge at 400, and set wheel nuts to 86.8 to 108 ft. lb. Out on a remote site, nobody is around to ask. Bookmarked and text-searchable, your copy travels in the cab wherever the forklift is working.

Manitou TMT315, TMT315/FL Common Problems This Manual Covers

Manitou TMT315 red engine oil pressure lamp and buzzer come on while the lift truck is running

Stop the engine immediately when the lamp or buzzer comes on, as page 54 directs, and check the oil level in the engine crankcase before restarting. Do not run the engine with an oil leak (page 36). Confirm the engine oil filter is changed every 200 H on the schedule on page 66.

Manual Section: Engine Oil Pressure p. 54
Red water temperature lamp lights up during operation on the signal lamp panel

Stop the engine immediately and trace the fault in the cooling circuit, per page 55. Inspect the hoses and fastening devices, and replace damaged hoses as shown on page 81. Do not restart until you have checked the radiator coolant level and confirmed the fan belt is not damaged or broken (page 38). The circuit holds 3.1 Litres (page 67).

Manual Section: Water Temperature p. 55
Red hydrostatic transmission oil filter clog lamp stays on after the hydraulic oil warms up

Replace the hydrostatic transmission oil filter cartridge following page 83: unscrew cap 1, fit a new cartridge and confirm it sits in the correct position before refitting the cover. Never run the truck without a cartridge, because that damages the hydrostatic wheel motors and pump. If the lamp lights on a cold start and goes out at working temperature, that is normal (page 55). The change interval is 800 H.

Manual Section: Hydrostatic Transmission Oil Filter p. 83
Red alternator charge lamp lights on the signal lamp panel while operating the lift truck

Stop the engine immediately and check the electrical circuit and alternator belt, as page 55 instructs. Then test each battery cell with a hydrometer following page 80. Keep a minimum of 1260 at 16° C, with no more than 0.025 variation between cells. Do not test right after topping up with distilled water. Battery posts and terminals contain lead, so wash your hands after handling them (page 13).

Manual Section: Alternator Charge p. 55
After running out of fuel or draining the tank, the fuel lines are full of air

Bleed the fuel system following page 85. Confirm there is enough fuel in the tank, turn the key to notch I, unscrew bleed screw 1 and work the fuel lift pump until airless fuel drains, then tighten the screw. Bleed the injection nozzles by running the starter until airless fuel reaches the tube connections. Use no open flames when checking the fuel level (page 9).

Manual Section: Fuel System p. 85
Air bubbles in the hydraulic circuit after draining and changing the hydraulic oil

With the engine stopped and the jib retracted and lowered, fill until the oil sits halfway between the dipstick marks. Then run the pollution abatement sequence on page 82 so the return filter cleans the circuit. The tank holds 35 Litres (page 67). If air bubbles formed at the pump inlets, call your dealer to bleed them. Never loosen unions or hoses while the circuit is under pressure (page 36).
