Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
This is the factory service manual for the New Holland H8060 and H8080 self propelled windrowers - part number 47487696, 1st edition January 2013, covering machines from PIN YCG667001 and up. Inside: teardown and rebuild procedures for the 6.7 l six cylinder turbo diesel (142 kW/190 Hp on the H8060, 168 kW/225 Hp on the H8080), the hydrostatic transmission and its pump and motor internals, final drives, the suspended rear axle, parking brake, steering, and cab climate control. These are 2013 CAN bus machines, and the back half of the book earns its keep: harness routing, full electrical schematics, and a fault code chapter that takes each diagnostic trouble code through symptom, probable cause, circuit test steps, and verification. Machine specific torque charts and hydraulic circuit diagrams are in here too.

New Holland H8060 / H8080 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Machine cranks or refuses to start with a propulsion cylinder not neutral message on the display
This is the neutral start interlock doing its job. Section 29, Transmission and Steering Hydrostatic Control, walks the propulsion control adjustment and neutral setup step by step, and the electrical chapters add circuit tests for the neutral and parking brake interlock wiring if adjustment alone does not clear the message.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic Drive (Section 29) - Transmission and Steering Hydrostatic Control p. 1269Weak or lost hydrostatic drive on higher hour machines
Before ordering a rebuild kit, prove which unit is tired. Section 29, Pump and Motor Components, gives teardown and inspection procedures for the hydrostatic pump and motors, while Section 35 covers the charge pump, pump control valves, and system residual pressure so you can test on the machine before pulling anything.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic Drive (Section 29) / Hydraulic Systems (Section 35) p. 225Return hoses rubbing through at the header platform and blowing out under pressure
Section 35 lays out the hydraulic system overview, the cutter control circuit, and the reservoir, cooler, and filter plumbing, so you can route the replacement hose the way the factory intended instead of recreating the chafe point. Follow the system residual pressure procedure there before cracking any fitting - these circuits hold pressure after shutdown.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Systems (Section 35) p. 359Shear hub lets go and the header drive stops dead mid field
Section 58, Attachments and Header Drive, covers the attachment cutting mechanism, the header hydraulic motor, and the header frame, so a field hub swap goes quickly. More important, it lets you inspect the cutting mechanism and drive for the binding or overload that sheared the hub, instead of just feeding the machine spare hubs all season.
Manual Section: Attachments and Header Drive (Section 58) p. 1723Frequently Asked Questions
My H8080 will not start and the display says the propulsion cylinder is not in neutral. Does this manual cover that?
Yes. That message is the neutral start interlock refusing to crank until the hydrostatic control reads neutral. Section 29, Transmission and Steering Hydrostatic Control, covers the propulsion control setup and adjustment, and the electrical chapters include circuit tests for the parking brake and hydrostatic drive control systems if the switch or wiring is the actual culprit. p. 225
Does it list the actual fault codes for these windrowers?
Yes, and it is a large chunk of the book. The fault code chapter gives diagnostic trouble code listings by code, then for each one the fault symptom, probable cause, circuit test steps, and the solution and verification. So instead of guessing at a number on the display, you follow the test sequence with a meter and land on the failed component. p. 1269
Can I rebuild the hydrostatic pump with this manual, or is it dealer only?
The manual covers it. Section 29 breaks down the hydrostatic transmission into pump and motor components with removal, disassembly, and inspection procedures, and Section 35 covers the charge pump, pump control valves, and system residual pressure checks. That lets you confirm which unit is actually worn before you spend money on a rebuild kit - a known job on higher hour machines. p. 30
What are the wheel and axle torque specs?
The book prints machine specific torque charts, plus figures in the rear axle section: wheel to wheel hub 115 N.m (85 lb ft), axle nut 271 N.m (200 lb ft), axle pivot pin bolt 400 N.m (295 lb ft), and 960 N.m (708 lb ft) on the extension position bolts. Hardware without a listed value falls back to the standard torque charts up front. p. 169
Which machines does this edition actually apply to?
Both the H8060 and H8080 self propelled windrowers from PIN YCG667001 and above - check the number on your product identification plate before buying. It is the 1st edition from January 2013, English language, and the procedures cover the complete machine from the 6.7 l engine back to the header drive and cab. p. 927
